[Music Video] Protohype – Lights On Feat. Malcolm Anthony

The British poet Alfred Tennyson famously once wrote “Tis better to have loved and lost, Than never to have loved at all.” Many of us have gone through the difficult time of having lost an important relationship in our lives, whether it be with a friend, significant other or even family member. Protohype‘s single with Malcom Anthony, “Lights On” shares the sentiments of being in such a situation, but now the song has a music video to go along with it.

Within the video we see what happens when a person loses something they once loved, in particular, a significant other. From the moment it’s over, through the phase of reliving those cherished moments to the hard times of waiting for them to come back, this video covers it all. It even dives into both perspectives, to paint a real picture that will hit right at home for may viewers. Not only is it a great video, but the song is just as powerful. “Lights On” is a part of Puppy Crew, which can currently be purchased through digital stores. Lastly, Protohype and Firepower Records are currently holding a creative contest for fans to show what they leave the light on for. Submit your video via Instagram by using the hashtag #ProtohypeLightsOn.

[Multi-Genre] Brig – Summer Melancholy EP

Russia’s favorite pirate, Brig, has made his return to Daily Earfood with his newest EP, Summer Melancholy. Two months ago, Brig had a few single releases come out, but now his full blown EP is here to shake the end of Summer up.

Now that Summer is coming to a close, this is the perfect time for a project by the name of Summer Melancholy. Despite the second half of its name, the EP boasts a tone that is more in line with the current season. Lighthearted synths blaze a trail through four singles that have Brig pushing a more future bass and 8bit style than his usual heavy sound. With the opening song, we’re instantly met with devouring piano chords then quickly move into a bass-driven single that certainly lives up to the fact that it is the title track. “Extreme” comes next with a burst of energy that makes it one of the best tunes off the project. Both “Kingdom” and “Wake Up” are grand creations, but we feel that the first half of the EP is a tad bit stronger than the second half. All four great singles, so don’t be skipping any. Check them out below and if you would like to grab the EP, you can do so for free!

[Dubstep] Ray Volpe – Bipolar EP

If you have been following the Friday Party Playlists, then the name Ray Volpe shouldn’t be something new to you. The NC producer has been steadily unveiling his Bipolar EP over the past month, and now it is here in full.

Bipolar features five singles, including a collaboration with the fellow young talent Tucker Kreway. Ray Volpe has been a masterful creator of dubstep for a long time now. Even when it was “dead” in many people’s eyes, Ray was continuously releasing records that proved otherwise. Today, his Bipolar EP is not only a testament of his talents and style, but him as the man behind the music. Each song is a part of him, and each song is undeniably fire. We’ve been jamming these hot tunes for some time, with the record “With Me” being replayed particularly often. Your favorite may be different, but go through all five and pick for yourself. Any of them have a shot, that’s how good Bipolar is. If you’re digging this EP as much as we are, head over to iTunes for the purchase.

’Bipolar’
’Make Me Feel’
’With Me’
’Full Control’
’Better (with Tucker Kreway)’
