[Electronica] Summer School – Nightly News

Summer School
Nightly News

Like his moniker, LA-based producer Summer School has a summery sound we just can’t get enough of. If you’re into old school video game music with a little bit of experimental synthwave, this unique tune titled “Nightly News” might just be the one for you.

The intro starts off with this hollowed chant, then proceeds to get into this 8-bit groovy synth that sets the stage for the whole track. The catchy high synths will definitely get you pumped and leave you headbanging ’til your head falls off. The wave-like sound that supports the melodies of the song is perfectly incorporated into the fast-paced jumpy beat. It also provides this chill vibe that gets you going with whatever you’re doing.

With that said, stay tuned for Summer School’s upcoming single “Control” that’s coming out 11/7. He’s one heck of an artist to watch for.

Up and coming producer duo coast just released their red hot remix of a Madeaux track titled “whatchawannado”. Being their first release, this remix is nothing short of amazing and definitely showcases their talent. It takes off with these sharp synths as the intro, and the buildup is shrouded with samples from the original tune. Incorporating these killer synths and trap with post-dubstep elements, the east coast-based duo killed this remix by completely switching up the style of the Madeaux song and making it their own. It is always difficult to add in your own elements while not overdoing it and giving credit to the original, but coast did just that. Sammy Bananas
Money Time feat. Antony & Cleopatra (Option4 Remix)

It’s always such a thrill for us at TMN when an artist we’ve been following from the ground up starts receiving the critical support for which we believe was due from the beginning. After an impressive 2013 and start to 2014, which included founding the digital Night Supply imprint, singles on the hallowed Nurvous Records, and absurdly viral remixes for Great Good Fine OK and Elizabeth Rose; Denver’s option4 makes a soulfully jacking debut on one of the biggest electronic tastemaking labels in existence, Fool’s Gold, by re-visioning Sammy Bananas’ “Money Time”. As with much of his back catalog, option4 paints a vibrant, deep and jacking U.K. house shine onto Bananas’ original; resulting in a tune armed with more than enough dark funky lacquer to incite a dancefloor storm. This one’s coming out as part of Sammy Bananas’ Money Time EP package, which dropped today through iTunes. Snag a copy here, and since you’ve made it this far, get your boogie onto option4’s remix above.
