The Way I Feel (Recycle Culture's Slow Emotion Reel)

One of the greatest parts of this blogging gig is virtual crate digging on Soundcloud for hours and hours trying to find the gems of the Internet. This here is a perfect example of something you have to earn to post. Recycle Culture and Doss are both known in smaller producer circles, however you’d be hard-pressed to see a guy walking down the street wearing their merchandise. That being said, the two are insanely talented and deserve all the love they can get. Doss produced “The Way I Feel” back in the spring and it did relatively well on its own, however Recycle Culture has picked it up and turned it into an astonishingly beautiful record. We as bloggers use the term “chill” a lot to describe music from all sound spectrums, however this remix is the absolutely perfect embodiment of what the word chill truly represents. This is the kind of track you can feel yourself melt into without a care in the world.

Deck Chairs On The Moon (Elderbrook Remix)

Bipolar Sunshine has made a big splash in the blog world this year and that will continue to grow going forward. He’s on a completely different wavelength creatively, and his music will continue to be a refreshing take on pop music as the industry becomes more and more saturated. While there’s so many male vocalists on our airwaves recently, there’s only one Elderbrook. The UK producer is relatively unheard of in most circles, however Annie Mac got her hands on his rendition of Bipolar Sunshine’s “Deck Chairs On The Moon” and now the heads are starting to turn. It’s as beautiful as it is haunting, which is surprisingly a combination made in heaven. What he was able to accomplish on this remix is nothing short of incredible and you best believe we will keep serious tabs on him in the future.

Dead Or Alive

The Portland duo of Shadows On Stars are quickly becoming one of our favorite 1-2 team in music today. They blew us away with their gorgeous covers of Lykke Li and Aalyiah and kept us going with sultry, emotional, eclectic original pieces. Chi Duly, mashup artist turned bonafide producer, creates incredible soundscapes that words can’t begin to describe and the beautiful Randa Leigh takes it home from there. This is one of the few artists where we encourage you to dig through their entire discography; it’s that good. Oh by the way, the Mad Men sample takes this to the next level.

More often than not, us ninjas tend to have a general understanding of how to classify songs based on their style, sound, as well as our knowledge behind each genre – after all, we are tastemakers so we should know what goes where! However, sometimes we face a challenge with certain songs in which it can get a bit difficult placing them exactly where they belong. That’s what happened to us when we came across this adorable edit of Jeremih’s “Break Up To Make Up”. We already go bananas over the original track as is, but WYLN just took this song to an entirely new level of cute. We know…most producers probably don’t want to have their music be described as “cute”, but hey, as a ninjette with a heart, this edit hits a girl straight in her soft spot every single time. With all the intricate drum patterns, the fluffy synthesized melodies, and Jeremih’s adorable young voice layered on top of this lovely production, WYLN gives this track a solid re-work that will entice all who listen.
