[Future Bass] Trivecta – Shatterpoint

Trivecta
Shatterpoint

When you think Florida, you think clubby house music, but that’s not the case for Tampa’s Trivecta. The producer’s new single “Shatterpoint” was released this week through AIA. Although the single fits into the future bass style, it doesn’t exclusively limit itself to that sound.

Trivecta has always had a taste for different types of music, producing everything from dubstep to glitch hop and house. Now, he adds future to that list with “Shatterpoint.” With it he blurs the lines between future and melodic dubstep, and we even get a bit of a hybrid trap break in the middle of the tune. It’s nice to hear someone put their own take on numerous styles, especially if they are all contained within one superb song. Grab “Shatterpoint” today through the digital service of your choice.

[Electronic] Mansionair – Easier (Electric Mantis Remix)

Mansionair
Easier (Electric Mantis Remix)

It’s been several months since we’ve heard any new material from Electric Mantis, but thankfully the wait is over. Since the explosion of “Flips And Flops, Drips And Drops” three years ago, he’s concocted a slew of innovative remixes, along with the massive Braincase EP, and now this fresh take on Mansionair‘s “Easier” provides the same amount of gusto and hard-hitting bass that he’s made all his own.

There’s a refined sense of sleekness throughout the tune compared to some of his previous work as it juggles the delicacy of the vocals with his signature style, and it truly feels as though Electric Mantis has found the perfect medium between power and poise on this remix. If you dig this one, absolutely check out his original tune “Daybreak” that was released on Majestic Casual a few months back. It’s always great to see a familiar face back on our SoundCloud feeds, and Electric Mantis continues to bring quality material to the table every single time.

[Multi-Genre] Two Friends & Exit Friendzone ft. Natalola – Overdose Remixes

Armada Music gets behind a lot of great projects and what we have for you today is one of them. Two Friends and Exit Friendzone put together an impressive remix pack for their single “Overdose.” The EP includes four remixes that utilize the original vocal from Natalola while doing justice to the full first release.

The project starts off with CRWNS, whose vibey future take on “Overdose” is a strong beginning step for the EP. Secondly, Sokko kicks things into a slightly different gear with a light-hearted breakbeat jam. And it is a jam. We knew we were getting into something good when we saw Jameston Thieves on the list. His remix is the most unique and energetic on the project; a standout as usual. Lastly, the talented Jinco closes it out with a trappy, future blend that has a lot of appeal to a wide audience. [Electronic] San Holo – Light (Taska Black Remix)

San Holo
Light (Taska Black Remix) [NEST HQ PREMIERE]

There’s no doubt that “Light” was a major hit for those who enjoy the melodic and future bass sound of San Holo and the exciting part is the track has only gained momentum as the Bitbird label continues to release the remix package. Bringing us a heavier version to the euphoric vocals while adding instruments including guitar, piano and more Taska Black, a resident Bitbird artist, has given new light (pun intended) to this airy track.

San Holo did a great job on the melody. I wanted to do something with that and make the climax as wide as it could possibly get. The blend with the opera-like voice is what makes this remix stand-out in my opinion.

Taska’s rendition adds edge to the slightly softer original making this a sharp comparison and giving those who enjoy a heavier beat a taste of what they’re looking for. Taska has surely joined our radar for artists to keep an eye on in 2017. Check out the track and stream or purchase the remix here
