[Dubstep/Glitch] Dodge & Fuski – Bad Meaning Good EP

Over the past few years, Never Say Die Records has without a doubt established itself as one of the premier labels representing some of the most innovative and talent producers in all of EDM. Being a fan of heavy bass music, I eagerly await any material Never Say Die Records puts out, and their latest release, Dodge & Fuski’s Bad Meaning Good EP is no exception. Bad Meaning Good, is a refreshingly diverse EP featuring five quality releases which highlight a vast range of tempos and styles of bass music. The first track off the EP, “Got 2 Come Together” is a high-energy track brimming with hard-hitting bass and strident synths. Another highlight of the EP, is “Turn It Up,” a glitch-hop track riddled with wobbles and ingeniously spliced vocal samples. “Turn It Up” is an excellent example of how this EP showcases Dodge & Fuski’s aptitude to create top-notch productions regardless of the genre. “Bad” is an aggressive drum and bass tune, which highlights Messinian’s grimy vocals with heavy wobbles and laser pitched synths. Also included on the EP is Brown & Gammon’s incredibly unique remix of “Bad” and arguably the most unique track of the EP, “Call My Name,” a more melodic bass filled tune. All in all, this EP is exactly what one should expect from any Never Say Die release, pure gold! Give each track a listen and grab a copy on Beatport here. Enjoy.

[Glitch/Dubstep] Pretty Lights – So Bright

Derek Vincent Smith AKA Pretty Lights needs no introduction. Known for his signature hip-hop soul infused dubstep and glitch-hop tunes, Pretty Lights has without a doubt forged his role as one of the most dominant figures in all of EDM. Today, Pretty Lights released his latest effort “So Bright”. “So Bright” is reminescient of some of Smith’s older material featuring ominous deep bass, infectious piano melodies, and expertly selected vocal sampling. Soon after this tracks release Derek stated on Facebook that he was not intending to release this track before the release of his forthcoming album. As a result of the track leaking, Pretty Lights has stayed true to his belief that all his music should be available for free so definitely give this song a listen, snag a free download and if you’re a fan make sure to hop over and support PL on Beatport. Enjoy.

[Electro House] Nicky Romero & Zedd – Human (Rawrberry Remix)

There are so many unknown producers in EDM and while many are not that good, there are some that are rare jewels that should be very well known. One of those jewels is Rawrberry who is bringing this glitchy and funky feel to Nicky Romero & Zedd‘s song, “Human”. We don’t know that much about Rawrberry except that he lives somewhere in the world and his music is fantastic. Other than those two facts, he is a mystery to us. His sound consists of reclined breakdowns followed by colossal growls and jagged synths. He is a producer too look out for in the future!

Give Rawrberry some love on his Facebook and Twitter or find more bangers on his Soundcloud.

[Glitch-Hop/Electro/Dubstep] KOAN Sound – The Adventures of Mr. Fox EP

KOAN Sound, the Bristol based electronic duo, have been teasing us for the past week with snippets and streams of their forthcoming EP, The Adventures of Mr. Fox. Luckily, as of today, the wait is finally over. The Adventures of Mr. Fox, KOAN Sound’s sophomore release on OWSLA, consists of four original productions by the duo as well as three fantastic remixes from the likes of Opiuo, Reso and Neosignal.

After just one listen to this EP, one thing is evident, KOAN Sound are masterful producers and technicians. Their funk-infused style of glitch-hop and mid-tempo dubstep flaunts some of the most unique synths and groovy basslines in all of electronic music, and it seems only obvious that the last year has been a year well spent, developing and enhancing their signature sound. The EP is a mixture of glitch-hop and funky electro-dubstep tracks, which truly describe how diverse of a palette KOAN Sound and the other artists on this EP have grown to develop. One of my favorite tracks, “Eastern Thug” is a grimy glitch-hop tune loaded with crunchy synths and groovy bass. Another highlight of the EP are both “80s Fitness” and Reso’s remix of the tune. “80s Fitness” is a funk-filled tune packed with 80’s style synths and what sounds like a vocal sample straight from a session of Jazzercise. Reso’s interpretation maintains the atmosphere of the original but quickly throws in a heavy dose of syncopated wobbles, which adds a fresh electro-glitch feel to the track. All in all, The Adventure’s of Mr. Fox is an EP that speaks for itself. KOAN Sound are in a league of their own and if they continue to develop at this pace, there may be no way for anyone to catch up.

Give each track a listen and make sure to support the artists by purchasing the EP on Beatport here.

[HOT] Kill The Noise – Kill The Noise (Part 1)

Jake Stanczak, AKA the notorious dubstep pioneer Kill The Noise, is no ordinary club sensation. He’s spent years dropping dance-floor hits, and his experimental side has seen him take genres and tear them apart before fusing them with something completely different. “Kill The Noise (Part 1)” has just been given the video treatment by Mike Diva, and it centres on a garish neon LA, filled with zombies and gore, the perfect setting for Stanczak’s hi-octane bass-buster.

[Glitch/Electronic] Nasty Ways – Cyber Snake / Skrakken EP

I love it when two of my favorite artists collaborate to form something new! Boreta from The Glitch Mob, and EPROM bring us this tasty new sound that rocks the Glitch genre. They put both of their unique styles in a blender and pooped out Nasty Ways. “Cyber Snake” treats us with some low heavy bass, with a side of a squelchy lead. “Skrakken” takes us for complete turnaround with a bass so heavy it’ll blow your head off! If you’re new to EPROM check out his latest LP here.

Bondax you're so star slinger remix

If you’re a fan of the underground British electronic scene, then we’ve got one hell of a treat for you with this ace remix from Mancunian producer Star Slinger. Star Slinger has taken the Lancaster sibling duo Bondax’s “You’re So” and added layer upon layer of drum rhythms which work in perfect harmony with the original’s soulful female vocals and smooth synths. This subtle but masterful reworking of “You’re So” is the soundtrack to the early morning after the clubs, the gentle comedown after the hard night out. Enjoy.
