[Electro House] PatrickReza – OVERDRIVE

OVERDRIVE

We’re pretty sure PatrickReza can do anything. His works have spanned genres from future bass to trap to dubstep and beyond. Today we share with you his latest, which hits the electro house sound right on the head. “OVERDRIVE” was released for free, so you should just go right on ahead and download it before even taking a listen.

Listen you shall, though. “OVERDRIVE” has that classic 2012-2013 sound that so many of us just can’t shake anytime we hear it. It was a time when electro was at the top and artistry was put first. Patrick brings that sound and style back while implementing newfound elements and his own signature for a huge record.

I wanted to capture a feeling I experienced this year while dancing with my friends and the crowd during Justice’s Sunday night performance at Coachella this year. During their set I saw everyone dancing, having a good time, present, and in the moment. No phones to block our view, just a crowd of people hungry for good times and good music. It was extremely refreshing to see the audience engaged and tuned in to the music and after getting home, I knew I had to capture or document that energy and feeling in the form of “Overdrive”, an homage to those that came before me and influenced me to create and continue to evolve as a musician, performer, and artist mashed up with my own melodic bass heavy sounds. PLAY THIS LOUD!

[Electro] The M Machine – Talking Machine (WAVEDASH Remix)

The M Machine
Talking Machine (WAVEDASH Remix)

As a producer, getting to work with or remix an idol is a dream come true. That dream came true for WAVEDASH who took on “Talking Machine” by The M Machine. Released on Mad Zoo, this official remix is just as awesome as you would imagine it would be.

With electro slowly but surely making its comeback, this flip plays right in line with the trend. WAVEDASH deliver a unique take on the track by taking their sound in a different direction, something that both The M Machine and Mad Zoo call for with their left-field catalogs. Instead of playing things safe, WAVEDASH took a chance on making something different and it paid off big time. This remix is hot, hot, hot! Get your copy of it today on the digital service of your choice.

[News] The Mile High City’s Nightlife Scene is Getting an Upgrade

I’ve had the ultimate pleasure of witnessing the evolution of Denver’s nightlife scene over the past 17 years. From the 16+ nights at the old Trax location, to the continual growth of dance music pillars like The Church, Beta, and Vinyl, to all of the “not-to-be-named” underground shows, I’ve truly seen it all.

Over the past few years, as the Mile High City has exploded with implants from all across the country and world, I’ve been anticipating the arrival of a new player in the game. And, according to my sources, that day has come. While the details are murky, at best, all accounts are pointing to a well-established nightlife group out of the Bay Area moving into a long-term lease somewhere in downtown Denver. The club promises to bring a level of production on par with other top-notch dance destinations, complete with world class talent, in an effort to redefine the growing landscape of places to get your groove on.

Stay tuned for more details. This is something you won’t want to miss out on.

[Jungle Terror] Fight Clvb – Savage EP

Fun fact, when I first got into the music industry, my very first interview was with Stephen Vasquez who has now become Fight Clvb alongside the hypest of hype men Mystereo. Back before Fight Clvb, Stephen was just as humble as he is today, putting hard work first and disregarding fame and recognition. Since then Fight Clvb became what it is today and now the duo has another EP, this time released through the Barong Family.

The Savage EP is just that, savage. Complete with three originals and a VIP, the Savage EP is a pillar for jungle terror. The latin/tribal sensibilities it has have always been something Stephen has managed to implement well into his works, which comes as no surprise when you know he was 1/2 of Sazon Booya. Interestingly, during the production of this EP, Stephen stumbled upon a trend related to a betting site not on Gamstop, which sparked an idea to explore themes of freedom and risk-taking in his music. This influence subtly weaves through the EP’s intensity and raw energy, making each track feel like a high-stakes gamble. In running through this EP, it’s not easy at all to pick a favorite as each song is major, and the list of collaborations including Bunji Garlin and Clinton Sly is phenomenal. Best part is each track can be downloaded for free. You’re welcome.
