We hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving last week, but more importantly we hope the transition back to real life was easier than trying to refuse that second helping of holiday dinner. This week we catch up with some solid records, starting things off with a brand new tune from Kicks N Licks, who just started up a tour. Music like what we have for you here is what originally got me into this music industry. Since then there has been a massive branching out, but there will always be a special place for crazy, in your face tracks like what can be found on Brig‘s Vanilla Sky EP. The thing I love about Brig is he takes his sound up and down the tempo scale to give listeners a different pace to dance to, but he always brings a ton of energy. He delivers two 128 tracks, including the title single which may just break your speaker system. Lovers of dubstep will absolutely love the paired “Bottle Of Rum” tracks that bring in a little cut time action to an otherwise fast-paced collection of records. For me, because I love the 108-112 range so much, the closing single “Megalomania” is my favorite. I thought the other tracks were hardcore, but this one is pure savagery. If Vanilla Sky is up your alley, make sure to head over to iTunes to get a copy.

Two of electro house’s best have come together for one slimy premiere from us ninjas. Charlie Darker and Far Too Loud provide “Squirm,” a dirty record that exquisitely balances the two producer’s sounds together. This title single is a part of a two track EP that will be released by Big Beat Records on November 6th.

Sound design is a key element for both CD and FTL, which is blatantly obvious in “Squirm.” From a snails-esque bass, to the gargling synth line, this single has some of the most enticing samples in the game. Electro house is making a comeback, thanks to several acts, but these two producers have been steadily holding the reigns for a long time now. Not only have these two provided an early listen to the entire title track, they have an EP trailer where you get to check out the other single “Nail Gun.”
