[House] Icarus – Home EP + Remixes
On February 1st of this year, the English act Icarus came out with the bustling single “Home” that featured vocalist AURORA. Together these two musical talents created a memorable record that is still getting its fair share of love all around the world from fans and Djs alike. Now, we have some remixes of “Home” that are just as powerful.
Four remixes were put together, with Icarus calling in some interesting producers to re-shape “Home” into something new. The first remix on the EP comes to us from Kölsch, a Denmark creator who really offered up something interesting with his take on the record. It’s not just any old average electronic remix. The same can be said about Lane 8’s remix, however this flip is a bit more deep and accessible to a wide variety of listeners. Humans & Machines keep the deep house vibes rolling with their remix that is one of the most club-friendly remixes on the project. The only other one that can rival it’s dance-centric tone is Dave Dresden’s edit that brings a bit more of a progressive mood to the track, but still keeps things with the underground sound, rather than opting for the mainstage, festival style. Check out all of the remixes and head over to iTunes to get a copy of the original and remix EP.

Vicetone – Bright Side Ft. Cosmos & Creature (Boehm Remix) [TMN Premiere]
Boehm of Bucharest has something special coming out soon. The Romanian producer was tapped for an official remix for Vicetone’s “Bright Side” that features Cosmos & Creature. Spinnin Records is backing this remix, as they hosted the original, but the ninjas come in to premiere the song to you.
“Bright Side” was a soft house record that focused more on vibes than hype. With Boehm’s remix, we still get a similar tone as the original had, but the energy jumps up a few notches. It’s a club friendly remix that has everything you want and more. Boehm pairs a solid bassline with subtle vocal chops for a coupling that is minimal, but extremely powerful at the same time. For fans of the strings that were the main element of the original, don’t worry, Boehm kept those in there in the introduction to pay a little homage. Sometimes these big remixes fall a bit flat, but this one certainly does not. Boehm did more than justice to Vicetone with his edit that you are hearing first here!
[House] Maison & Dragen Ft. Michael Rice – I Won’t Stumble Back (Dance Radio Edit)
I Won't Stumble Back (Dance Radio Edit)
Maison & Dragen have had a rebirth recently after already establishing themselves in the house game. A little freshening up has done them well, as they’ve shifted their sound a bit, but kept things in the four-to-the-floor realm at 128bpm. The Finland duo’s most recent song is “I Won’t Stumble Back” which features the vocalist Michael Rice, who was a contestant on The X Factor UK.
Together these three individuals put together one hell of an original that borders on the line between deep and progressive house. It has the bubbly personality of prog, but deep sensibilities plague it’s fundamental structure. “I Won’t Stumble Back” has Maison & Dragen proving they are only taking steps forward as they make a run to the top of the EDM chain. With Michael Rice’s performance we hear just why he became a fan favorite as a contestant on the show. His voice is immensely powerful, and together with his cohorts it seems to be augmented in energy.
“I Won’t Stumble Back” will for sure be in our playlists throughout the Summer, because it has the perfect sound for the outdoor festivities that will ensue. Chances are it will be on yours as well. If you want the song for yourself, iTunes has a copy.
[Progressive House] Trivecta – Into The Limelight feat. Danyka Nadeau
Into The Limelight (feat. Danyka Nadeau)
If Monstercat releases a song, you’ve just got to check it out. About a week ago they uploaded a single by Trivecta called “Into The Limelight” that featured Danyka Nadeau. We gave it a listen, then another one, then another one and that cycle continued for a bit.
“Into The Limelight” is a fresh take on the progressive house genre whose main-stage sound can get a little repetitive at times. Trivecta decided to give it a bit different flare, by focusing less on the melodic stabs and more on painting a solid musical picture with more dynamics. Danyka did an incredible job with her vocal feature that is one of the biggest highlights of the song. Together these acts put together something special within the progressive realm, and it should certainly get its fair share of play time at the upcoming festivals by DJs who play this time of sound. “Into The Limelight” is currently available on digital stores, so head on over to iTunes if you would like a copy.
[Progressive House] Dzeko & Torres – Home Feat. Alex Joseph (Maestro Harrell Remix)
Chicago is the mecca of house music, so it’s understandable that musical talents that are pushing the 128 sound are going to come out of the city. One such case of that happening is with Maestro Harrell, who has been establishing himself as one progressive house’s most talented young guns. Recently, he came out with a remix for Dzeko & Torres’ single “Home” featuring Alex Joseph.
This official remix was released through Musical Freedom just last week. With festival season here, the big uplifting anthems are going to come out of hiding. Maestro’s remix is one of those, with a powerful melodic sound that will have event attendees on their feet with their hands in the air. This isn’t the only recent record that Maestro Harrell has put out though, as he came out with “Poseidon on Mainstage Music. “Poseidon,” which was co-created by Maurice West, shares a similar vibe to Maestro’s “Home” remix. Check them both out, and head over to Beatport if you want to add them to your digital library.
