[Multi-Genre] MitiS – Foundations EP

Back in January we had the opportunity for an exclusive regarding a special project that MitiS had coming. He then shared with us the intro track to his now released Foundations EP, a five track project that has been released for free through Born Records.

MitiS delves back into the melodic styles that brought him acclaim. The classically trained musician kicks off the project with an ethereal composition that sets the mood of the rest of the EP. From there we move to two dubstep tracks that really bring that classic MitiS sound to life. “Before The Season Ends” has the producer bringing some house vibes, then MitiS further diversifies with the glitchy “Breathe.” “Forever” closes out the EP with an uplifting house sound that is perfect for Spring time parties. Check out the full EP below, and don’t forget to download it for free!

’1.16.2016’
’MitiS – Believe (Original Mix)’
’MitiS – Foundations Feat. Adara (Original Mix)’
’MitiS – Before The Season Ends (Instrumental Mix)’
’MitiS Feat. Fathom – Breathe (Original Mix)’
’MitiS – Forever (Club Mix)’

[House] Project 46 & BYNON – Castles

Arkade
Project 46 & BYNON "Castles"

“Castles” is the product of Project 46 and BYNON coming together for a nimble record that has been released by Kaskade’s imprint, Arkade. As two of house’s great acts, you can expect “Castles” to be a hell of a record, which is just what you get. More than just having a solid instrumental, the vocal performance on this song is absolutely killer. The composition has a nice blend of acoustic sounds with synthetic counterparts.

“Castles” isn’t one of those festival records with a whole lot of energy, but it’s not really a 100% laid-back chiller either. Of course, throughout the song the energy moves up and down, but the general mood of the song has a good balance that gives it some spirit. This original single is currently available via iTunes for those who like what they hear. This isn’t the first time these acts have collaborated, and we doubt it will be the last given the great track record.

[House] Klingande – Losing U (Feat. Daylight)

Klingande
Losing U (Feat Daylight)

Ultra Records got their hands on a cool record with “Losing U” by Klingande. Ultra is known for releasing some big dance records that are more of the festival style, but Klingande and Daylight bring with them a softer sound with pop undertones and acoustic sensibilities. The build up and drop both center around a violin melody that you’re not going to here often in dance music. It’s nice to get that change of pace with someone who is willing to step outside the norm and bring that non-electronic touch to dance music. “Losing U” is an uplifting original that proves to fans that Klingande is back for good, as he was previously on a bit of a hiatus. Fans weren’t disappointed, and we weren’t either. Get your copy at your preferred digital store by heading through this link. Stay tuned for more from the French producer in the coming months.

[Dance] Sloane Peterson – Flashback

Sloane Peterson
Flashback

It’s become a bit of a theme for this writer’s Fridays to involve those choice dance records that actually required a bit of digging to get to. And with that, we’ve unearthed yet another gem for your underground listening pleasure from genre-eschewing, Denver based producer Sloane Peterson (who by the way has one of the best, nostalgia inducing monikers anywhere in music). Quietly, the young beat maestro has been making waves in his backyard opening for the likes of TMN regulars like Cashmere Cat, Thomas Jack, Sam Feldt, Carmada, Stelouse, Shiba San and more; but its the wunderkind’s constantly evolving, shapeshifting productions which have grabbed our attention so handily.

We’ve had our ears to Sloane Peterson’s bustling sound for a while now, through his L.A. based duo DirtyTalks, along with a few appearances in various TMN Playlists; and with every passing record, we’ve become increasingly drawn in. The latest, and very appropriately titled tune to emanate from Sloane Peterson, “Flashback”, reveals yet another piece to an exciting production puzzle. Scooting out to a breezy stride on the heels of a thumpy four-four kick and bating pad work, “Flashback” quickly hops into what we can only describe as a melodic synthesis of underground sensibility, executed through the lens of a contemporary artist that got a hold of Deadmau5’s 2009 sound kit. A heady comparison indeed, we know. “Flashback” pushes and pulls its listener back and forth from places of past sentimentality to the swampy, underground dancefloors of present-day; which all results in a simultaneous feeling of both already knowing, and currently discovering. But, as we’ve long since passed this writer’s self-imposed 200-word limit, we’ll just let Sloane Peterson’s production do the talking. Enjoy “Flashback” above.
