Kaskade & Adam K – Raining (Halogen Remix) [TMN PREMIERE]

Kaskade & Adam K
Raining (Halogen Remix)

We’re not sure if you caught the news just yet, but Kaskade’s crowd over the past two weekends were some of the largest in Coachella’s storied history.

Not that anyone needs an introduction to this legendary captain of progressive house, but his recent increasing popularity may be a sign of things to come in the music scene. The days of aggressive “bangers” and “anthems” are slowly fading, and back again are the days of melodies, gorgeous builds, and ethereal vocals.

Quickly rising ATL duo Halogen know this all too well, as they’ve seen their highly infectious house tunes rack up hundreds of thousands of plays. In fact, their last two releases have both hit a quarter million plays on Soundcloud, garnering them a rapidly growing adoration across the blogosphere.

Today, we hear a gorgeous interpretation of Kaskade and Adam K’s smash hit “Raining,” which soars with unparalleled progressive beauty. It features a longing, anticipatory build, which pays a grateful homage to the original style of the tune. However, things pick up quickly, and we’re welcomed into a culmination of charging piano melodies, synth arrangements, and a whirlwind of percussion.

Pick this tune up today for free on Halogen’s Soundcloud. And, when you do, make sure to give them a follow. You know, because you’re getting a bad ass song for free from them.

[New] Nero – The Thrill (Porter Robinson Remix)

Nero
The Thrill (Porter Robinson Remix)

Following his Worlds Tour, it’s been a while since Porter Robinson came out with new music. To our surprise, he premiered this epic remix of Nero‘s “The Thrill” at Coachella last Friday and turned up the heat even more at the desert.  The 22-year-old prodigy sampled Alana Watson‘s vocals on top of some classic Porter maneuvers, creating beautiful melodies and fusing them with glitchy synths. The cadenced synth melodies manage to keep the track breathtaking, moving and epic, as it is closed out with some simple and pretty keys. The style of the remix resembles something off of Worlds.

It’s no surprise that Porter’s originality and relevance make him one of the frontrunners in the electronic scene. It’s creative minds like his that keep the ball rolling for today’s music. Take a listen to this brand new track as Porter Robinson once again proved that genres don’t matter.

[Progressive House] Oh Wonder – All We Do (Steve James Remix)

Oh Wonder
All We Do (Steve James Remix)

Oh Wonder has become one of our favorite’s acts to see blossom over the past couple of months. Their combination of female and male vocal counterparts and monthly release schedule have kept the flow of music in just the right amount, but every release seems to be more passionate than its predecessor (even when we think this is not possible). The indie-electronic pair’s single “All We Do” has received its fair share of remixes, but 16-year-old producer Steve James just blew them all out of the water with his rework of the emotional single.

Despite his youth, Steve James has only been shooting upward with his aggressive yet uplifting remixes of ZHU, Dillon Francis, and many more, but this remix of Oh Wonder by the Pittsburgh producer may be his most gorgeous masterpiece to date. Providing a sentimental piano line to add depth to duo’s heart-wrenching croons, James pours empathy, grief, fervor, and love into a synth toppling that could be defined progressive house and progressive trance. Regardless of the label, Steve James’s remix resembles the early works of Arty and Armin van Buuren who pioneered the progressive trance/progressive house movements.

His remix of “All We Do” is only available for free download for 24 hours so be sure to grab your own copy here before tomorrow at noon.

[Progressive/Melodic] Calvin Harris Ft. Ellie Goulding – Outside (Anevo Remix)

Calvin Harris Ft. Ellie Goulding
Outside (Anevo Remix)

Melodic house recently surfaced onto Internet sound waves, attracting fans of more mild tones with its incorporation of live instruments like guitars, flutes, and others to keep the mood sublime. But with the surge of producers putting their hands into the melodic pot, the genre quickly became flooded with many soundalike tracks that created a need for a new innovative style.  Cue in Sweden’s newest star, Anevo.

The young producer has definitely turned some heads with the surprise factor in every production he has released thus far, but his most recent remix of Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding’s “Outside” is one that people should genuinely take the time to listen to. Whether you see it as infusing progressive house into melodic house or infusing melodic house into progressive house, the fact is that Anevo hit it out of the part. Developing a harmonious juxtaposition between Goulding’s soothing croons and serene guitar strums, Anevo strips the euphoric characteristic of progressive house to integrate it into a melodic house sequence to birth something truly refreshing.

This remix is perfect for those late-nights, early mornings, or 3 p.m. coffee breaks where you just need to chill out. Check out the stream above and grab the free download you definitely need here.

Adam's Song (Kasum Remix)

As you’re reading the title you’re probably thinking to yourself, what could anyone possibly do to remix this song? Wonder no more, as NY-based producer Kasum stripped the Blink 182 classic “Adam’s Song” down to the bone and gave it the electronic dance treatment. Following the success of his debut single “Glorious”, Kasum takes it way back and gives us a taste of throwback punk rock music, and the fusion of the two genres surprisingly works wonders. The producer keeps it interesting by incorporating progressive melodies and dubstep elements without overshadowing the original vocals.

This track is just another example of the wide range of music Kasum has to offer. Grab a free copy of the tune here and show some support if you like this rendition of the 90’s classic.
