[Giveaway] South Park Music Festival Ticket Giveaway + Mr. Collipark – No Discrimination (Basscrooks Remix)

Basscrooks
No Discrimination [basscrooks Remix]

With a few of us Ninjas residing in the great city of Denver, CO and its surrounding areas, we get pretty darn excited when a full blown music festival is brought to the Centennial State. So it’s pretty safe to say you can catch a handful of us at the South Park Music Festival during the July 4 weekend. Put on by Cannabis Network Radio, SPMF features an appropriate top-end of headliners including Slightly Stoopid, Paper Diamond, Steel Pulse, The Grouch & Eligh and more, while also pulling in a more than solid supporting cast from some of our TMN favorites including option4, Blackalicious, Vinnie Maniscalco and the bass leaning duo of Basscrooks. Needless to say, it just wouldn’t be a party without at least a few of our incredible readers in attendance as well, so we wanted to extend an opportunity to come groove with us in the Colorado sun by giving away a pair of free tickets. Enjoy your Fourth of July weekend with amazing live music, camping if you are so inclined, an absurd amount of activities when you need a break including frisbee golf and yoga and oh yeah… we hear you can partake in the combustion of marijuana plants in this state free of legal trouble.

Entering our contest is super simplified. Our only requirements are: You must “like” The Music Ninja, Basscrooks and South Park Music Festival on Facebook, enter your e-mail adress into the widget below and we’ll contact you via e-mail. Our contest runs all the way until June 24th, and there are a few rules, of course:
– You must be 18 or over to enter.
– You are responsible for transportation and lodging at the Festival (Camping is free including rental tents and gear if you don’t have your own, and there are many other great options as well including hotels)
– You must bring a valid form of ID to pick up your tickets at the Festival entrance.
– You must promise to have as much damn fun as possible on our behalf

Good luck, ninjas!

We wouldn’t be The Music Ninja without giving you some music either would we? Denver wub-slingers Basscrooks, who we’re thrilled to catch live again,  just released their official remix of Mr. Collipark’s “No Discrimination” in anticipation of their South Park Music Festival set, and it’s a grimy, twerk inducing edit just in time for the weekend. Basscrooks are truly an exciting pair to take in during a live setting, and we think their polished brand of bass music will be without a doubt one of the highlights of South Park’s stacked lineup. Grab their rump clapping remix for free here and we’ll see you soon!

[Zouk Bass] JSTJR – Party

JSTJR
Party (Free Download)

JSTJR may be an unfamiliar name to you ninjas, or it may not. Before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s lay down the pronunciation of JSTJR. JSTJR is not pronounced ‘Just Junior.’ JSTJR is pronounced like ‘gesture’, and he did us a kind gesture by letting us premiere his new tune “Party”. Located out of New Hampshire, JSTJR is laying down some serious work with Moombahton, Zouk Bass, Twerk, and more. JSTJR lays down some Brazilian vibes on his most recent work “Party”. With “Baile Funk” vocal chants, some fat horns and crazy vocal manipulation, “Party” is bound to go off every time. If you’re a fan of amazing mid tempo music, you better get that name stuck in your head.

[TMN DOES MIAMI RIGHT] Ultra + WMC 2014 Review

Welcome to my Ultra-world. It is a land filled with sun, sex, sounds, and sea. The energy here is relentless, the pace is fast. People come from around the globe to experience the narcotic pulse of bass that emanates throughout the city. Come with us as we voyage in to the depths of debauchery and dance, and experience the glory that is known as Miami Music Week.

Pool parties are a mainstay of the Winter Music Conference, so let our journey begin in South Beach at the Raleigh Hotel pool for the DIM MAK Miami Beach Party. Here we can observe the one and only Steve Aoki in his natural habitat. Aoki provides copious entertainment for all, and he is generous enough to even give some of his devoted following cake and champagne! Though very little of these accoutrements actually make it in to anyone’s mouths, it’s the thought that counts. Other notables to be taken from the environment are Deorro, The Chainsmokers, 3lau, Felix Cartel, and Autoerotique. Amidst the hard hitting, fist pumping, in-your-face beats that DIM MAK records is known for, we can’t help but to be pleased with the plethora of beauty and movement that surrounds us. A large pool waits patiently behind, framed in a soft blue hue and coaxing weary partiers towards it cool waters with the promise of buoyancy. As the party wanes, we trickle with the masses back on to Collins Avenue and become engulfed in an ocean of neon, skin, and cars that cost more than most families homes.

’New Dim Mak Music!’

Back across the bay and just a couple miles north of the Ultra Music Festival, we now travel to a chic and sensuous lounge nestled in the heart of Wynwood. The famed area is known for its walls; ever-changing murals blanket the buildings. The crackle and hiss of spray paint can be heard around every corner and an aroma of acrylic permeates the nostrils like a vandal’s potpourri. Be mindful of the razor wire on your right as we meander towards The Social Lubricant. TSL’s staff holds up to the lounge’s name, offering courteous and brisk service along with reasonable drink prices (for Miami). Absorb the deep house beats put on tonight by the likes of underground sensation Thugfucker. That’s right, Thugfucker. While the American and Icelandic combination of Greg Oreck and Holmar Filipsson could certainly play until 5am, the line up tonight will not require them to. Both of the boys are in excellent spirits this evening from the looks of it. Their connection with their crowd is palpable. Each twist and turn of their set seems to mean something, each bassline tickles the stapes in a profound way. Don’t forget about Thugfucker’s buddies either. Matt Tolfrey, Nick Curly, Francesca Lombardo, and many others are here as well to ensure auditory satisfaction. Are you hungry? There’s a sushi bar in the back corner to compliment your ethanol if you so choose…I would highly suggest it, we’ll be here awhile.

’Thugfucker live’

We’ve shown you South Beach and gone underground in Wynwood, so let’s venture now to what everybody has been waiting for; let’s go to Ultra Music Festival 2014! A cab is necessary because parking is the worst clusterfuck you’ve ever seen in your life. I am scheduled to interview Art Department, Paper Diamonds, and Vello Virkhaus prior to partaking in any of the festivities. You’ll notice that there, regrettably, is no press area within Ultra’s grounds…there IS, however, a mega yacht docked right next to the grounds that we can use. After delightful conversation coupled with a Krewella photo-op and a chance brush by with Zedd (he has sparkly eyes, pay no mind to my screaming “Zedd! You’re awesome!”), we tromp through the hidden workings back stage to make our way over to the Underground stage. Cue the sensory overload!

[NEW] Oliver – Night Is On My Mind (Dillon Francis Remix)

dillon made it

Another absolute heater from LA representer Dillon Francis. This is an insane remix of Oliver‘s funk infused track “Night Is On My Mind”. Featuring some Kavinsky-esk vocals, mixed with massive drum work, it comes together for your standard Moombah banger from Dillon. Can’t say enough about Dillon’s upcoming album that will be released on Mad Decent some time this Fall.  His single with Totally Enourmous Extinct Dinosaurs, “Without You” is the only official release so far, and it’s epic. No news on the release date of this filthy remix, but we will keep you posted. Cheers.
