To kick off our first Mix Dojo, we’re featuring everything from Trapped out madness to Essential Mixes chop full of House anthems. Starting with Mat Zo‘s Essential Mix that just aired, and it’s nothing short of amazing. A lot of people were saying that Eric Prydz was hands down going to be the best Essential Mix of the year but 23 year old prodigy Mat Zo gives him a run for his money. Zeds Dead most recent release titled “Snowstorm Mix” which first aired on In The Mix a few days back. LOUDPVCK features one of the most unique mixes on todays Dojo, featuring a laundry list of unreleased tracks from the biggest Trap artists in the game. Ok I take that back, GTA wins the most unique Mix award with even more unreleased tunes and an amazing mix of Moombah and Trap. In case you haven’t had enough 808’s to the face, gLAdiator blesses us with a solid mix of Hip-Hip and Trap. Lucky Date is no stranger to solid mixes, with Volume 5 of “Who’s Lucky”, and it’s yet another satisfying display of Electro. Eric Prydz Minimix is pretty much seamless, so if thats your thing, you’re going to be pretty hooked on this beautiful display of Mixing. Now for a Minimix from Butch Clancy that he did for BBC Radio 1xtra Dubstep Download on the MistaJam show. The Mix Dojo wouldn’t be complete without something insane from Diplo, so here’s his Private Beach set at Holy Ship. Last we have another Trap mix, this time from Hydraulix & Chenzo. Cheers.
Clear all your plans for the next 10 hours and TURN^
Diplo‘s 2013 world takeover has just begun. First up, teaming with GTA for some funky Electro infused Moombah. Sampling Missy Elliot‘s song “Work It” in the best ways possible, and delivering some incredible vocal work. Ever drop in this just keeps you wanting more, and the third drop resembles Knife Party‘s track “Sleeze”. Next is another huge collabo from Diplo and DJ Fresh, and they murder this one. With another massive sample, using Notorious B.I.G.’s track “Grab My Gun”. Pew, pew, pew, lasers.
These were both ripped from the mix at the bottom by GTA titled, Death To Genre’s Mix Vol. 1.
At the turn of the year, there’s always a few things we get excited for. There’s always the excitement of new Music Ninja programs we’re launching, plans of grandeur for the upcoming year, new album releases, and of course, music festivals. We’re just out of the gate for 2013, and we have to say, we’re really stoked for what lies ahead.
First up on our list of festivals is the largest electronica festival in North America. The setting is perfect, as Miami is already a hub for the scene. But when you take the party outside, onto Bayfront Park, you know you’re in for an epic weekend.
With the announcement of the Phase 2 Lineup, we thought it would be a perfect time to share some of our favorite tracks from the performing artists this year. So here’s our 2013 Ultra Music Festival Mega Playlist. Once you listen to it, head over and pick up your tickets.

Over the last week or so Candyland uploaded their entire Bring The Rain EP and it’s nothing short of amazing. This incredible debut EP will get released tomorrow on Spinnin’ Records.
The first track we are featuring is “Beneath Myself” and it has Ethan Davis on vocals. The progression in this one is flawless, utilizing a catchy melody during the intro. Then dropping into mind blowing Drumstep section that hits at all the right times. Next is “Castle Of Affair”, which is arguably the best song the EP, but we will leave that up to you. Peter Dawson is on vocals, and mixed with the euphoric Dub in this song, it is sure to leave you satisfied. The self titled track “Bring The Rain” has sexy vocals from Lexi Forche and some absolutely insane Electro. Just when you think this can’t get any better, they have a massive Moombah tune with Big Chocolate. The last two tracks, “Get Wild” and “All You You Gotta Do” are just incredible as the rest, so just sit back and enjoy this incredible EP. Also be ready for a Bring The Rain Remix EP some time in the future, lots of big things to come for Candyland in 2013. Cheers.
Finally, the day has come where we get to listen to the entire 4-minute anthem “Blow The Roof”. When Flux Pavilion first dropped this at EDC Vegas in 2012 it was love at first sound. We featured previews and rips, but he finally uploaded the full version to his SoundCloud this morning. It will be off of his upcoming Blow The Roof EP due to drop on January 28th via Big Beat Records. Cheers.
Although starting out as just slowed-down house music with a dembow riddim and mid-tempo, moombahton has quickly become a global phenomenon on the EDM circuit. Drawing influences from reggaeton, trance, trap, dubstep, and many more, this genre has transcended and created a new sound for music lovers to vibe to. In just three years, creators Dave Nada and Matt Nordstrom have worked with some great acts to make this movement happen. On their latest single “Snake Juice”, the duo pairs with VA DJ’s Gent and Jawns to create an infectious dance banger. Off their upcoming T&A records compilation Moombahton Forever, set to drop January 17th, this eclectic tune is filled with many sounds and rhythms that makes it work as both a chill tune or dance floor motivator.

There is one artist everyone can thank for this little gem and he is about to grace the mile high city. Thursday night at the Ogden, Dillon Francis will be bringing his moombahcore to take over the bodies of the already sold-out show’s audience. Only twenty-four years old, this Los Angeles native has recently exploded onto the electronic dance scene where he is best known for being a pioneer of moombahton. Dillon was first noticed back in 2010 by a certain artist who constantly encourages us (specifically the ladies) to express ourselves, ahem, Mr. Diplo. From there, Dillon has worked on such labels as OWSLA, Dim Mark and Mad Decent. Whether he is dropping mad dubstep bass, making our bodies get low with trap beats, or hypnotizing our minds with electronic melodies, Dillon is an artist who is going to keep dominating the music world.
A major bonus to this show? The opening artists are the highly talented Kill Paris and Denver’s own AViVA. Let me just put it this way, my own mother who really doesn’t understand the whole “dubstep” thing, loves Kill Paris and that is because Paris takes old school jams and mixes then with intoxicating melodies. He is, hands down, one of my favorite artists out there today and I am just waiting for him to take over the music world. Also, AViVA is a young one but this girl has talent. She made the right choice when she decided to follow her heart and pursue her music. This show is so full of talent; you would be a ninny not to go. Throw on those boots with the fur and get ready to rage, see you there Denver.
