[Electronic Soul] Zuma – Ruby (ft. Lenis Kim & YNGDRGN)

Zuma.
ruby (ft. lenis kim & yngdrgn)

What do you get when you combine the best aspects of dancehall, electronic music, and R&B? There’s no punchline (not that it was a joke in the first place), but Zuma‘s newest song fits that description exactly. Enlisting the vocals of Lenis Kim and YNGDRGN, Zuma has crafted an incredibly smooth and wavy original that’s primed and ready for your evening enjoyment. From Lenis’ sultry delivery to YNGDRGN’s undeniable sense of swagger, every element of “Ruby” is an essential contribution.

Zuma has no problem sharing the spotlight with his promising features, and he’s scaled back on his normal complexities in his production to allow for these two to do their thing to the fullest. The whole tone of this song is erupting with sensuality, and we can pretty much guarantee it’ll find its own special place in your late night playlists. If that sort of thing isn’t on the to-do list and you’re just looking to chill, “Ruby” is still a great listen for that too. Give it a spin tonight, and don’t miss out on the free download HERE.

[Electronic Soul] SRNO – Stay Sane (ft. Naaz)

SRNO
Stay Sane (ft. Naaz)

“Stay Sane” is the latest release from Majestic Casual, and it perfectly encapsulates the type of material we’ve grown to know and enjoy from the label. SRNO continues his streak of notable releases with this appetizing balance of R&B and electronic influence that tactfully shares the spotlight with Naaz‘s magnificent voice. It’s the sort of song that pairs wonderfully with brisk fall weather, and watching the leaves fall while the seasons shift just makes sense while it’s playing. All of you Galimatias and Alina Baraz fans out there will definitely resonate with this one, as the piano-centric production bolsters Naaz’s vocals into an enticing and lush tune that honestly wouldn’t feel out of place if it was on Urban Flora. Find yourself some time on a slow evening to enjoy “Stay Sane” to the fullest.

[Music Video] Xavier White x Paul Couture – Bad Blood

One of my personal favorite R&B tracks from this year is “Bad Blood.” Xavier White and Paul Couture dropped this one back in July, and now they have a music video to supplement the song.

We thought things couldn’t get any better, but they do. It only fits that one of the dopest songs gets one of the dopest music videos. From the song and video, there’s certainly some influence from Drake in it, which isn’t a bad thing in this case. Xavier keeps cool with his own unique style and sound, that’s much darker than his mainstream counterpart. One of the things that the song had that really was interesting was its slow-motion feel; which is expressed to a tee in the video. All around, this is kick ass. midnight
Absolute Reprise (prod. Karnival Blues)

Following his 0:00 EP, midnight teamed up with Majestic Casual for a brand new tune that marks a continuation stemming from the project’s second track, “Absolute”. He croons:

You’ve seen the way that they look at me but / you’re not afraid, you wanna stay / you’ve seen the way that my mind can be / you’re my savin grace, you keep the devil away

midnight’s trademark has always managed to juggle being smooth, being aware, and combining both of these aspects to blaze his own path in the ever-colliding worlds of electronic music, R&B, and pop. The revamped production courtesy of Karnaval Blues constructs a complementary vision to the crisp falsetto delivery of midnight in the instrumentation, building a solid foundation around his vocals with a measured tact. midnight continues to create relieving and soothing tunes time after time, and “Absolute Reprise” is another winner. [Electronic] CLEW feat. Prov – Tarzan

CLEW
TARZAN (prod. by Prov)

At TMN, we get a bit selective about the music we share on Sundays. Considering it is a day of relaxation for many of us, it is also a day for preparation. In the simplest of words, we probably use 3/4ths of the day to unwind before we reluctantly bring ourselves to confront that Monday is only a few hours away. As a result, we like to choose music that takes on both the characteristics of soothing and motivating. This evening, we’re bringing you a tune that falls flawlessly into this description.

Hailing from the windy city of Chicago, CLEW makes his debut on TMN with his single, “Tarzan,” which features fellow producer, Prov. As the lead single off his forthcoming project, an EP titled “Get a Clue,” “Tarzan” carries the sound that establishes CLEW’s identity.

Influenced by hip hop and electronic components, “Tarzan” is shaped by an infectious percussion line of tribal drums, smooth guitar riffs, and catchy vocal chops of CLEW’s rich vocals. The breakout single offers both vitality and ease, making it the perfect track to end your Sunday night to.

Fusing together soulful, 60s-style, between-the-sheets lyrics and experimental future R&B musical soundscapes, Goldwash has us swooning over his immensely unique product, yet again.

It shouldn’t come as any surprise that this quickly-rising artist is rapidly being picked up by esteemed critics, publications, radio stations, and DJs alike. With an all-too-alluring voice, and truly impressive production capabilities, tracks like “LDR,” as well as the rest of his stunning catalogue, are piling up as reasons to believe that Goldwash is on his way to becoming a household name.

Today’s release is the title track from his upcoming debut EP, and it beautifully showcases his breadth of his musical talent. A sensual bassline, wavering synths, accentuating piano work, and perfectly placed claps create a vibe-heavy atmosphere that perfectly carry the full range of his voice and lyrical implications. If you want to dig deeper into those lyrics, which we always advise with a bit of caution, you can check out what he had to say about the track below:

I had just pulled several all-nighters to finish up my work in my senior year of college. After turning in my thesis in the morning, I met up with some friends and went to hang out in the woods to celebrate the glorious weather and our statuses as former students. I was wandering among the trees, deliriously tired, and I started to think about how the person I loved was living with a spiritual cult on the opposite side of the world. I realized that even if we were thinking of each other, the different circumstances of our lives had created a deep chasm between us.
