[DFF4] Paris & Simo – Zombie (3LAU TomorrowWorld Edit)

Paris & Simo
Zombie (3LAU TomorrowWorld Edit)

I can remember it like it was yesterday. On my desk (which I assume was meant for homework space) was my mixer and two tables, all hooked in to four massive floor speakers. While you might think this set up was necessary for a proper house party, it was actually what my dorm room looked like way back in 2002. While I’m sure everyone on the 3rd floor of the McCowen dorms loved my super smooth mixes, my professors sure didn’t appreciate my lack of studious efforts. Regardless, Zombie Nation’s “Kernkraft 400” had a heavy spot in my regular rotation, which is why I was admittedly excited to see a fresh new take on it.

Recently Montreal DJ/Producer duo Paris & Simo created an edit of their own, taking it out of that decade and into this one with some new-school appeal. 3LAU having a knack for creating stellar bootlegs and edits of his own,  took their version and put together what you’re seeing here today. While originally reserved for both artist’s live sets, 3LAU is releasing this into the wild in celebration of his TomorrowWorld debut, and with the intent of building up some hype for Dance Floor Filth 4.

Paris & Simo sent me a 1 drop draft version of this edit almost 8 months ago; after playing it in nearly every set, I told the boys I was going to do my own edit / mix. It’s been an essential part of my sets and a well kept secret between the 3 of us, exclusive to our live shows. It was finally time to unleash it after all of the amazing feedback we received!

Aside from being an energetic take that pays homage to the original, this edit also serves as the perfect tune to throw into those upcoming Halloween playlists. Make sure to head over to 3LAU’s webpage on October 13th to snag your copy.

Find Your Love (Tim Gunter Remix) [REPUBLIC]

As we approach the weekend with great ease, what better way to kick off your Thursday than with a little Drake? As we sit here about ready to grab our jars to collect our Drake tears, we just so happened to listen through the entirety of Tim Gunter’s version and realized that we didn’t have the urge to call our ex and tell them how much we miss them. Instead, we found ourselves groovin’ to this Tropical Hip Hop rendition of Drake’s, “Find Your Love”. We’re not sure if ‘Tropical Hip Hop’ is an actual genre, but considering it sounds pretty freakin’ neat, we’re going to have to add our stamp of approval. Tim Gunter is a genius for meshing together ‘Tropical with 808’s’ because this remix is one for the books. So get ready to vibe to a banger from Tim Gunter and press play because you won’t be able to escape the repeat button.

Kanye (Lash Remix)

With every girl in line at Starbucks waiting for their pumpkin spice lattes while wearing overly-sized sweaters, leggings, and Ugg boots, it might be a good indicator that Fall is here and festival season is a thing in the past. Well, don’t go throwing your crop tops and floral headbands in the back of your Summer box just yet because it seems as if our favorite season has extended itself just a tad bit longer for us to enjoy in our cozy sweaters (or bikinis if you’re in Southern California).

Not too long ago, The Chainsmokers unleashed their latest original, “Kanye” featuring SirenXX, and made Kanye himself want to be like Kanye. Now that everyone and their mom has heard this song, producers from all over are lining up to reveal their renditions to share with the world. Today we have a fun remix from Dominican Republics very own Lash; these two spiced up their version with a whole lot of sugar, spice, and everything nice. Filled with poppy synth leads, enticing piano melodies, and a bursting breakdown to make you feel even more basic with your latte, Lash gives us another reason to keep the party going strong. Colorado-based producer TYR just released this interestingly intriguing remix of a Jamie N Commons song titled “Lead Me Home”. which features this funky housey sound that gets you movin’ and groovin’. Being that it’s slower than most house and garage mixes, the futuristic beat work perfectly with this folky goodness.
