Bipolar Sunshine – Deck Chairs On The Moon (Elderbrook Remix)

Bipolar Sunshine
Deck Chairs On The Moon (Elderbrook Remix)

Bipolar Sunshine has made a big splash in the blog world this year and that will continue to grow going forward. He’s on a completely different wavelength creatively, and his music will continue to be a refreshing take on pop music as the industry becomes more and more saturated. While there’s so many male vocalists on our airwaves recently, there’s only one Elderbrook. The UK producer is relatively unheard of in most circles, however Annie Mac got her hands on his rendition of Bipolar Sunshine’s “Deck Chairs On The Moon” and now the heads are starting to turn. It’s as beautiful as it is haunting, which is surprisingly a combination made in heaven. What he was able to accomplish on this remix is nothing short of incredible and you best believe we will keep serious tabs on him in the future.

[Electro] Chromeo – Lost On The Way Home (Shash’U Remix)

CHROMEO
LOST ON THE WAY HOME feat. SOLANGE (SHASH'U PWRFNK REMIX)

Funk powerhouse Chromeo is a popular target for remixes. This time around, Montreal DJ, producer and songwriter Shash’U did a rework of their song “Lost On The Way Home.” Having similar musical style, Shash’U juices up the funk in this tune even more and certainly does his fellow homies justice. The slapping bass drives the whole tune, and when it’s mixed in with David Macklovitch and Solange‘s voices, you can’t help but get up and dance your life away.

Give this gem a listen and be sure to check out Chromeo’s new album White Women!

[Chill] Ryan Hemsworth (Feat. Tinashe) – One For Me (Lucas Remix)

Ryan Hemsworth
One For Me (feat. Tinashe) ~ Lucas Remix

Ryan Hemsworth is one of the most dynamically talented producers in the industry today and he has the catalogue to prove it. Not only has he worked with everyone from Tinashe to The Underachievers, but his own personal discography is incredible as well. If you aren’t convinced this Canadian prodigy can produce any genre under the sun, I urge you to look into his remix EP, RYANPACK Vol 1. His collaboration with Tinashe on “One For Me” was one for the ages and something entirely incredible on its own merit. However, Seattleite Lucas is out to prove that you can take a Hemsworth and make it your own. The first thing you’ll notice is this edit is slowed down, both instrumentally and vocally. This sadboi anthem sounds a lot more instrumental than its predecessor, thanks to Lucas’ own piano work. You need this song in your life, we promise.

2 On X Rare Earth (Flight Mix)

Call it a remix, call it a mashup; we call it a smash hit. Dubbel Dutch is the Platform 9¾ of the Internet: You have to know exactly where to look to find what you really want. While other bloggers are running full speed into a wall, allow us to bring you one of the best kept secrets of the electronic music scene. Just when you thought you had enough “2 On” remixes, you are dead wrong. Dubbel Dutch released the “Rare Earth” instrumental about a year ago and it did well on its own; however there’s no denying it takes on a whole new sound when matched with the star power of Tinashe. The Brooklynite recently released a handful in this Hyperwine remix series; however this might be the best as it takes on so many different sounds in one, I can’t even think of a proper genre for this. If you like your Top 40 with a bit of flair, this is your song.

Craig David
All The Way (aywy. & Sh?m Edit)

We’re getting wavy tonight wavy, Ninjas. Whoever says R&B is dead is clearly no friend of mine; in fact I’d argue it’s in a new renaissance. Usher, JT, and John Legend are just a few names of artists who have revitalized their careers recently and the future looks bright with stars like MNEK and Craig David on the horizon. Luckily for us, the homies aywy. and Sh?m share the same viewpoint and are able to recognize real when it crosses their path. I’m assuming Craig David is to the UK as Jennifer Lawrence is to us, so let these two take you back to 2005 with a twist. Share this with your parents, your friends, your landlord, doesn’t matter. This song is literally for everybody.

Electric Youth
Runaway (Maths Time Joy Remix)

Maths Time Joy may go down in the history books as one of the most criminally underrated artists of our generation. He is on the radar of most indie and eclectic blogs, but he hasn’t fully penetrated the mainstream circuit yet. As for Electric Youth, they truly are the gift that keeps on giving to the blogosphere. Add the two together and you get one of the best productions you will hear all weekend. Though minimal at times, MTJ’s edit sparks so much energy into “Runaway”, it’s practically contagious. I challenge you to listen to this without a smile on your face; it simply can’t be done.

KISSLAND (YUME Bootleg Edit)

YUME is an absolute enigma. His “Hold My Liquor” remix was one of my favorite tracks of 2013 but he took it off his Soundcloud before we could share it around. He’s been tinkering on and off since and one of his greatest pieces thus far his is interpretation of The Weeknd’s “Kissland”. The Jersey boy brings forth one of the most indescribable, ethereal soundscapes you will ever hear. We are truly at a loss for words with this remix, it is that gorgeous. Here’s hoping Yume sees this and knows he has fans that want him to keep showcasing his music to the world.
