[TMN Premiere] Kodak to Graph – IAMANTHEM (Big Wild Remix) + Exclusive Tour Video

Kodak to Graph
IAMANTHEM (Big Wild Remix)

LA-based, Florida-bred producer Kodak to Graph had a breakout year in 2014, but his debut album, Isa, which dropped last month, truly crescendoed that growth. The project plays from start to finish like an epic novel filled with emotional range, unexpected turns and vivid sonic explorations. Today, we’re excited to be bringing you the premiere of Big Wild‘s fantastic remix of one of Kodak to Graph’s hardest hitting tracks, “IAMANTHEM.” Big Wild, also a ninja favorite, flips the tempo creating an incredibly smooth, layered vibe with an unbelievable percussive arrangement. It’s a fantastic experimental whirlwind of a production that somehow mixes an 808-driven, chill-trap feel with a near-disco aesthetic.

This remix will be featured on the upcoming remix EP for Isa, which is due out in May and will also include re-works from Com Truise and Slow Magic. If you dig what you hear from Big Wild, also keep an eye out for his upcoming single that’s coming out through Odesza‘s Foreign Family Collective label next week.

Kodak to Graph is also currently in the midst of his Break the Ice Tour  along with Big Wild and OBESØN and shared with us some awesome, psychedelic tour footage. Check out the premiere of that video below and find upcoming tour dates here. For all of you in SF, we’ll be giving away tickets to his show on 4/30 at 1015 Folsom–keep an eye out on Monday!

[Future] The M Machine – Don’t Speak (Manila Killa Remix)

The M Machine
Don't Speak (Manila Killa Remix)

Only a few months ago, The M Machine released their Just Like EP, which contains some ridiculously intense tracks. One of the five tracks on the EP, “Don’t Speak,” recently got the remix treatment. The artist? None other than Manila Killa. If you’re a little thrown off guard by this, you aren’t the only one. Considering the huge contrast between both of their typical sounds, we were more than eager to check it out.

The result was a pleasant shock to our ears, and we knew we had to share it with all of you. Within the first twenty seconds, listeners are introduced to a sweet melody that fits the tune so well, that it’s easy to mistake the remix for the original. Soon after, this melody is joined by a beat that you’ll unquestionably find yourself tapping your foot to. Manila then switches it up with a section that resembles the dirty style of The M Machine.

The remix exercises Manila Killa’s skills by merging his signature, laid-back production with the hard, dark sounds of the M Machine, and demonstrates his versatility as an artist. As a result of his dope abilities, he generates one hell of an irresistible track.

[Trap] Chedda Da Connect – Flicka Da Wrist (Gorilla Bass Remix)

Flicka Da Wrist (Gorilla Bass Remix)

Chedda Da Connect meets Gorilla Bass in this “Flicka Da Wrist” flip by the latter act. It’s hard for a lot of new, emerging acts to get there music out there, but the producer has managed to create appealing takes on interesting records. Gorilla Bass has released two other cool edits prior to this one, and with this latest he moves back into the realm of trap to deliver a turn’t up version of the dirty south original. Although it’s geared towards a party atmosphere, it’s not an over the top raging banger; rather, it’s tasteful with the energy, lending itself to do wonders with crowds in all sorts of settings. Much like the other remixes, this one is being released for free, so if you have your wrists flicking, do yourself a favor and download the track.

Loud Places (feat. Romy) [Eekkoo Edit]

If you haven’t already checked out Jammie xx’s latest release, “Loud Places,” featuring the vocals of the xx’s Romy Craft, you may want to hop on that. The original production, both exquisite and mysterious, embodies such a profoundness that it’s pretty questionable as to why anyone would want to remix it. But that is before you listen to Eekkoo’s edit. He makes sure not to damage any of the song’s existing beauty by working around the melody and craftsmanship, only by adding in a subtle beat that continues throughout the entire duration of the track. The product is a club-compatible version with a hint of a techno feel that you’ll put on repeat for days.

[Future] Tinashe – All Hands On Deck (Remixes)

You know those tracks that are just so good, you never want them to end, so you put them on replay? The ones that bring life to your ears? It’s thanks to those tracks that we started writing about music in the first place.

Now is probably a good time to put the spotlight on two stand-out artists, Giraffage and PACES. Both put their own spin on Tinashe’s heated tune, “All Hands On Deck,” creating two unique sounds, one just as highly addictive as the other.

Starting off with Giraffage’s, he takes a bit of an edgier, darker approach to his remix. The result is a combination of deep house and future that does away with the original’s hip-hop feel, and provides a brand new ambience that’s a bit more sophisticated.

PACES, on the other hand, puts a much more playful spin on the sultry original and transforms the not-so innocent track into one that radiates youthful innocence. The thick texture, comprised of glittery synths, heightened pitches, and feel-good vibes, makes it nearly impossible for this remix to lose your attention.

But whether you feel like getting down and dirty, or doing cartwheels on the beach, both of these remixes will undoubtedly fit your mood.

[New] Nero – The Thrill (Porter Robinson Remix)

Nero
The Thrill (Porter Robinson Remix)

Following his Worlds Tour, it’s been a while since Porter Robinson came out with new music. To our surprise, he premiered this epic remix of Nero‘s “The Thrill” at Coachella last Friday and turned up the heat even more at the desert.  The 22-year-old prodigy sampled Alana Watson‘s vocals on top of some classic Porter maneuvers, creating beautiful melodies and fusing them with glitchy synths. The cadenced synth melodies manage to keep the track breathtaking, moving and epic, as it is closed out with some simple and pretty keys. The style of the remix resembles something off of Worlds.

It’s no surprise that Porter’s originality and relevance make him one of the frontrunners in the electronic scene. It’s creative minds like his that keep the ball rolling for today’s music. Take a listen to this brand new track as Porter Robinson once again proved that genres don’t matter.

Help Our Souls (Urban Contact Remix)

Sony Music has backed an official remix for the Austrian producers Urban Contact. Their indie dance take on “Help Our Souls” by the fellow countryman Nihils brings along with it heavy use of acoustic instruments, giving it an organic sound that one can imagine live. Just have a listen for yourself and close your eyes. Urban Contact keep a similar sound to the original in that regard, however they up the energy and add in a slight, tasteful tinge of disco that peaks through the composition now and again. Both the original and this remix are must hear tracks for music lovers. If you’d like to purchase the song, you may do so here.
