[Festival Preview] Lightning in a Bottle 2015 + Playlist

okokokok

Do you hear what we hear? It’s the sweet, sweet sound of festival season and it’s about time we get our eyes, ears, and minds ready for another year of sensational performances, overpriced beer, conflicting line-up times, and shower-less days to make us smell like regret the next morning. If you’re anything like us over here at TMN, then you understand just how important festival season is to us. Come on, who doesn’t love to spend hours upon hours of our weekends listening to some of the most talented artists from around the world while also connecting with like-minded individuals at the same exact time? Well, considering they’re not a wook…(please see THUMP article for more information on how to spot and avoid said wook).

With Coachella making it’s first pit stop this weekend and later this month, we can’t help but pack our bags a few weeks in advance because we’re prepared to take on this years Coachella head on. Clearly, we’re just really excited, but not because festival season is finally here, but because we just realized that we are 7 weeks shy of attending the latest and greatest gig, Lightning in a Bottle. Stationed out in the beautiful Bradley, California, LiB is back again and this time with loads of talent and entertainment that’ll rattle your bones and change your life all at the same time. We missed last years festivities and after listening to everyone and their mom (literally) tell us that LiB was the best thing to have ever happened to their lives, we can’t help but shed a million tears for not being present in the moment with some of the world’s most positive and uplifting people on this planet.

Body [Stint Remix]

Organically created, Stint‘s new remix is a beacon of light letting us know that Ajay is still here and well. Upon hearing Niia’s “Body,” a flow of creativity burst through him and the present track was born. It’s a chilling indie influenced production that has a slight groovy undertone to it. Although the vibe is similar to the original, the style is shifted, shedding a new light on the 2014 track. Stint’s version feels less synthetic, making it more accessible to listeners. The Rhythm (Sebastian Carter Edition)

Before the Ninja crew took me as their own, I was something else, somewhere else. Sebastian Carter was a person that received support on pretty much everything he released. This guy brings some deep fire, and he’s recently brought the world a remix of “The Rhythm.”

MNEK gets a minimal makeover with a strong groove as the basis for the club-centric single. The bassline is a work of art in and of itself, and the playful interplay between the rhythmic structures makes this a song that will get even the most stiff of individuals dancing. Sebastian reached #2 on Hypem with this, but it certainly still has some life left. Heart it, and get yourself a free copy.

As for the remix, it comes out with the Dependence compilation on April 24th.

Sonic Area came up with something that can’t really be defined by one genre. It’s a little trashy, with a hard vocal that is just rough enough around the edges. As the song develops it feels as though things get crazier and crazier, but isn’t that what all us go hards are looking for anyways? Have an early listen to the single, and be ready on the 24th when the whole compilation drops.

California Love (Chachi Remix)

Following the success of his previous release “Land Down Under”, NY-based producer Chachi just set the bar even higher with this brand new remix of SomeKindaWonderful‘s cover of “California Love”. The electropop tune by the up and coming group is sped up in tempo and then turned into a future bass dance track. For a song that is super lyrically recognizable, this track is incredibly addicting and fun to sing along to. The heavyhitting bass comes in with a statement at the beat drop, fusing the two electronic subgenres surprisingly well. The boy band vocals fit in well with the complex elements of the track, as they bring out the mysterious vibe a little more.

Chachi has been on a roll with putting out quality future bass tracks. While we would love to see some original material from him, make sure to follow and show some support!
