[House] Skrillex & Diplo (Jack Ü) X Justin Bieber – Where Are Ü Now (Halogen Remix)

Skrillex & Diplo (Jack Ü) X Justin Bieber
Where Are Ü Now (Halogen Remix)

Maybe it’s the fact that it’s the weekend. Maybe it’s the fact that we’re in a pretty damn good mood. Maybe it’s the fact that this remix is actually just that damn good. Whatever the reason why we’re posting a song bearing the Beiber namesake, we’re charging ahead with it.

If you’ve been following TMN for the past few months, you’ll know that we’ve become quite fond of Atlanta-based producer/DJ duo Halogen. After a slight re-boot in their sound a while back, they’ve been churning out impressive tunes left and right, and we’ve been impressed with every release. Today’s is no different.

Yes, we’re a little late to the party, as this remix did come out four days ago (or four months in internet time), but it seemed like the perfect soundtrack to help lead us into the weekend. It’s light and energetic, boasting an engaging melody that begs to played on a sunny day with the windows down. Most of all though, Bieb’s vocals are pitched down, creating a perfect balance with the music.

If you’re slowly counting down the minutes until quitting time, throw this on and slip away for a few minutes. You won’t be disappointed.

[Electronic] Elliphant – Never Been In Love (Bixel Edition)

Elliphant
Never Been In Love (Bixel Edition)

The #FREELIFE pioneers are on a tear with their latest releases, and their recent switch up in sound cranks up the energy big time with an edit of Elliphant‘s “Never Been In Love.” The Bixel Boys take a break from their typical house groove for a rock infused, trap influenced tune that could probably incite a riot at just about any moment. The bone crushing bass is balanced out by Elliphant’s powerful vocal maintained throughout, and the track melds together into the Boys’ most unique release to date. They went out on a limb to try out something new, and, even though we’re big fans of their work so far, we certainly hope to hear more deviations from their norm in the near future!

[Nu-Disco/Chill] Ekkah – Last Chance to Dance (Goldroom Remix)

Ekkah
Last Chance To Dance (Goldroom Remix)

The King of that laid-back, Summer inflected disco dance sound, L.A.’s Goldroom last graced these welcoming pages of TMN with the syrupy sweet and chilled out original “Til Sunrise”, and today returns with another tactfully executed disko revision of Ekkah‘s “Last Chance to Dance”. The former bedroom producer turned entrancing live experience has by now established a signature blend of house & nu-disco somewhere around a breezy 110 BPM’s; which works wonderfully with the UK based duo’s poppy soundscape, playing back and forth between dancefloor fairy dust and its original, hooky stems. Once again, we’re swooning over another Goldroom cut, and for those of us who will find themselves as part of the proverbial “festival circuit” in the coming months, check out the string of live dates below.
