[House] Halsey – Ghost (Lost Kings Remix)

Halsey
Ghost (Lost Kings Remix)

Following their epic Imagine Dragon remix, LA-based Lost Kings are switching gears to melodic house by remixing “Ghost” by New York singer Halsey. To our surprise, the combination of the two forces works wonders. Halsey’s vocals go perfectly with the joyful vibe driven by a tropical synth. The tune is stripped and then accompanied by slowed drums. You will be caught singing along and dancing to this catchy tune without question.

The Lost Kings once again showcased their diverse caliber, as they’re able to grab different elements and turn them into something special. If you want to get through your mid-week struggle, or want something that will make you happy in an instant, here’s your answer.

How Sweet It Is (Eau Claire Remix)

DC-based producer Eau Claire is a magician when it comes to resurrecting oldies. The classic Marvin Gaye tune “How Sweet It Is” gets the Eau Claire makeover, and she gives it a deeper factor than the usual disco approach. Kicking off with a series of oriental synths, the tune has a simple but dreamy vibe. The keys go pleasantly well with the hollowed vocals, and accentuate the feel-good element of the track. There’s so much positive energy, it’s no wonder this classic remix deserves every bit of attention. We just couldn’t get enough of this goodness.

[Future] Vanic X Aquilo – Losing You

Vanic X Aquilo
Losing You

Yet again, Vanic has proven himself an exceptional producer. Creating music that cannot be described by any word other than “addicting,” he exercises his ability to create melodies that appeal to any and all listeners. Not only this, but he has mastered the skill of balancing his sound within collaborations–finding ways to allow vocalists to shine through his powerful music.

In his latest release, “Losing You,” Vanic takes on the hypnotizing vocals of UK duo, Aquilo. Together, Aquilo’s voices and Vanic’s powerful melody compliment each other in the most unpredictable way, and consequently forms a product that is unimaginable in sound.

Tracy Chapman
Talkin' Bout A Revolution (Bobby Brush x Deep Chills Remix)

When it comes to remixing an artist like Tracy Chapman, you’d better come correct. Deep Chills and Bobby Brush decided to shed their normal tropical sound in exchange for a smooth and saxy deep house tune. Making the wise decision of keeping Tracy’s vocals in tact, these two supplement the original with light percussion, warbly synths, and sax solos that would make Bill Clinton proud. This remix is just a fun time overall and, whenever the clouds decide to finally part, is best enjoyed on a sunny day with nothing on the mind but relaxation. This is a nice change of pace for these two, and here’s to hearing more from them in the future!

Catey Shaw
Human Contact (Speaker Of The House Remix)

New York’s Catey Shaw‘s tune “Human Contact” has gotten a sick disco reanimation thanks to Speaker of the House. Newly formed for this premiere, “Human Contact” is a deep indie pop soiree meant for those who want to community build through the mediums of music and dance, because surely, you will be dancing. Upbeat house grooves with piano chords and other instrumentation make this one a perfect hump day jam to ease the day along. Deep house tends to be pretty simplistic, and although this is so too, there’s more layers to this exciting flip. Highly enjoyable? You bet. After you listen, if you would like to get the song you can do so here. Speaker of the House is one of my favorite deep house producers because of his unique style, which certainly sticks out in this remix.

James Blake

GARREN has established quite the reputation for his work, and even had people stealing it at one point. Thankfully, that situation was rectified, and he’s begun to truly receive the credit that’s been long overdue to him. Every remix he’s released lays a warm blanket of lush synths and refined drum work over our delicate ears and tucks us in at night safe and sound.

His new take on James Blake‘s “I Am Sold” continues this tradition with the aptitude of James himself along with clear influences from Cashmere Cat and more forward thinking artists. His groundwork for success is strong, and while he still is slightly under the radar, there’s no doubt that his time going unnoticed will be short lived. 101 (Taylor Wise Remix)

We’re no strangers to WALLA, and once we saw that Taylor Wise had crafted his own rendition of “101” by them, we absolutely had to show it some love. This sprightly remix is a slight deviation from Taylor’s normal hip-hop source material, but he reworks WALLA‘s tune into even more of a relentlessly upbeat and positive tune with ease. Fleshing out the drums and sprinkling bright synths throughout, Taylor Wise truly transformed “101” in the best way possible, resulting in an enjoyable pick-me-up that not only will turn that frown upside down, but will actively excite you. He’s given us a free download also, so show some support via ToneDen here and enjoy!
