After signing with Mind Of A Genius (The home of ZHU), and spending the past year hunkered away writing, LA based artist Gallant made a huge impact a few weeks back with the release of electronic/future RnB beauty, “Open Up“. Thankfully for us, Gallant whas resurfaced again and revealed another new track today.

After dominating the HypeMachine charts with her debut single “Shelter” back in February, UK based songstress Lyves has finally returned with her follow-up to that glorious tune. Compared to her previous effort, “Body Close” is a bit darker and moodier in tone, yet still incredibly sensual. “Body Close” is the type of song that captures your attention from start to finish, as crawling synths and ominous bass give way to racing snares, all lacquered effortlessly by Lyves’ astonishing vocals. Production credit goes to Synkro, whose work behind the boards provides the perfect backdrop for the Portugese native’s passionate crooning. The track will live on both artists’ respective debut EPs, set to release sometime later this year.

Duo Gosh Pith resurfaces with a brand new single entitled ‘Child’. It feels like the perfect time for 69 to unleash their most vibrant tune yet as the Spring season in Detroit just begins to bloom. ‘Child’ certainly feels like a dream, but it also carries a set conscious lyrics filled with comforting reminders. This song is a reward to all of us for simply living and learning everyday. Gosh Pith continues to elevate an already impressive collection with this brand new piece to follow up the Jonah Baseball remix of ‘Smoke Bellow‘. Even though the celebrations taking place today are standard fare out here in Colorado, we know our ninjas all across the globe are looking forward to this unofficial, yet widely recognized holiday. In honor of 4/20, we’ve partnered with the forward-thinking electronic label SectionZ Records to help release a free, two-part, 31-track compilation.

Titled SectionZ Higher, this collection encompasses the diversity of their roster and highlights the label’s strong commitment to marijuana law reform. This free double album features tracks from lauded SectionZ artists like Savant and Mr. Bill alongside relative newcomers like Evoke, Panda Coast, and Zanski.

We chose tracks that contain multiple levels of both meaning and sonic architecture. We also chose the tracks based on the different strains Indica and Sativa and how those affect both body and mind. A song like Mr. Bill & Evoke same lets you sink back into your mind as it plants a concept and gives you the perfect landing zone. For Sativa its different. It’s a very active high so we chose music that would compliment and inspire that, like Detective Orange – OMG I Can’t Even is more about moving and easily transitions into the background without losing its feel. – Josh Hernandez SectionZ Records
