[Electronic] Tinashe – All Hands On Deck (Giraffage Remix)

Tinashe
All Hands On Deck (Giraffage remix)

Bay Area producer, Giraffage, has already worked his magic on a number of R&B classics proving to be one of the most agile, novel electronic producers in the space. Naturally, contemporary R&B artists are taking notice with the latest being Tinashe, who enlisted him to remix her already electronic-leaning “All Hands On Deck.” Giraffage departs slightly from his generally playful approach in favor of club-ready garage vibe flexing his versatility with phenomenal results. As always, the talented up ‘n comer seamlessly toes the line between tugging at our heart strings and making us dance. Give this one a listen above and, if you haven’t already, check out our interview with Giraffage.

[Festival Preview] Lightning in a Bottle 2015 + Playlist

okokokok

Do you hear what we hear? It’s the sweet, sweet sound of festival season and it’s about time we get our eyes, ears, and minds ready for another year of sensational performances, overpriced beer, conflicting line-up times, and shower-less days to make us smell like regret the next morning. If you’re anything like us over here at TMN, then you understand just how important festival season is to us. Come on, who doesn’t love to spend hours upon hours of our weekends listening to some of the most talented artists from around the world while also connecting with like-minded individuals at the same exact time? Well, considering they’re not a wook…(please see THUMP article for more information on how to spot and avoid said wook).

With Coachella making it’s first pit stop this weekend and later this month, we can’t help but pack our bags a few weeks in advance because we’re prepared to take on this years Coachella head on. Clearly, we’re just really excited, but not because festival season is finally here, but because we just realized that we are 7 weeks shy of attending the latest and greatest gig, Lightning in a Bottle. Stationed out in the beautiful Bradley, California, LiB is back again and this time with loads of talent and entertainment that’ll rattle your bones and change your life all at the same time. We missed last years festivities and after listening to everyone and their mom (literally) tell us that LiB was the best thing to have ever happened to their lives, we can’t help but shed a million tears for not being present in the moment with some of the world’s most positive and uplifting people on this planet.

Press Reset Ft. Amory

Hebinomichi Volume 2 is on its way tomorrow, and we’re getting a nice taste of what to expect courtesy of TastyTreat, Cory Enemy and Black Monday. Splicing together the best elements of future bass, R&B, and club music, this collaboration is an absolute rush from beginning to end. The stuttering synths pair perfectly with the smooth vocal accompaniment of Amory, and it would come as no surprise if this song goes off in any set. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for Hebinomichi Volume 2 on your SoundCloud feeds tomorrow, and grab the free download of “Press Reset” HERE while you wait!

[Event Preview] The Underground Music Showcase – 7/23-7/26 – Denver, CO

After the raucous and discovery laden journey that was last year’s Underground Music Showcase in Denver, CO; we are once again gearing up for another edition of our favorite music festival in Denver. One of the few remaining music gatherings in our the fair city of Denver to eschew the typical smattering of major label festival fare, The UMS has dropped the first glimpse into a lineup boasting over 1,500+ acts strewn across various shops and bars dotting Denver’s South Broadway district, and we’ve already got stars in our widening Ninja eyes as a result. Buoyed by the gleaming synth-pop of Portland, OR’s STRFKR and the psych induced dream-rock of Brooklyn trio DIIV, as well as TMN Favorites Rose Quartz, Wild High and The Epilogues, this year’s UMS looks to be as top heavy as ever without skimping on any of the underground qualities which brought it to prominence in the first place. Grab your tickets here, and quite honestly, for our friends in Denver, $50.00 for a four-day paradisaical dip into some of the best atmosphere and music (of an absurd number of genres as well, mind you) the Mile High City has to offer is what we like to call in the industry… “a steal”.

Check out our 2014 coverage of The UMS here, stream our mini-playlist featuring a tune from each aforementioned act to stoke your UMS fire, and read the full lineup of announced artists thus far for the 2015 installment of The Underground Music Showcase below.

Sunday Night Soul [Vol. 47]

It’s Easter Sunday everyone, and although none of us are the Easter Bunny, we hope what we have to offer is a bit more appealing than any pastel colored eggs–unless of course those eggs contain chocolate inside, because there’s probably no way we can top that all. Either way, we hope this week’s Sunday Night Soul is the perfect nightcap to your holiday weekend. Once again our playlist is packed to the brim, so we’ll keep it short on the text so you can get straight to the listening.

We would like to conclude with one last note though. For those who haven’t had a chance to hear it yet, we highly recommend checking out alaya‘s recently released issue 02 compilation. Many of this week’s songs are from the project, and though I wish I could include all of them, there simply wasn’t enough space. With that being said, we hope you enjoy tonight’s selection. Make sure to follow us on SoundCloud where you can find our playlists after they’ve been published.

[NEW] Tory Lanez – In For It (Prod. RL Grime)

Tory Lanez
In For It (Prod. by RL Grime)

Proclaiming the return of his highly touted Fargo Fridays series, Tory Lanez has dropped a brand new heater today titled “In For It.” Teaming up with RL Grime once again, “In For It” is the first single from Tory’s forthcoming collaborative EP with the WeDidIt collective. The song has all the elements you’d expect from a typical Tory Lanez tune: eerie, atmospheric production, gritty rhymes and smooth, seductive vocals. The T.O. native seems to never let us down, and we can barely keep still as we eagerly wait for more material from his upcoming project.

Marti Ann – Her Bedside (prod. FERRAZ) [TMN Premiere]

Marti Ann
Her Bedside [prod ferraz]

If this new Marti Ann doesn’t rev your engine, I’m not entirely sure what will. The slow and drawling production seeps with subtle and seductive nuances that complement the duo’s powerful R&B tinged vocals and instantly reminds us of something The Weeknd would croon. With SXSW and Miami behind us, we’re definitely exhausted, so it’s nice to have something calm and collected to relax to. “Her Bedside” is an essential hazy tune that will complement that romantic evening you’ve been planning for a while, so light those candles, press play and start your night off right with this slick new tune by Marti Ann.
