[NEW] Cashmere Cat – Adore (Feat. Ariana Grande)

cashmere cat
Adore feat. Ariana Grande

If producing a track with Kanye West wasn’t evidence enough that the Cashmere Cat takeover is real, this new single with Ariana Grande will most certainly erase any doubts in your mind. It’s impossible to believe this pairing would result in anything less than gold, as Ariana’s heavenly vocals absolutely thrive over Cashmere’s lush soundscape. By the end we guarantee you’ll be screaming “my my my” right along with the addicting chorus. Stream the single above, and then head over to iTunes to snag yourself a copy.

[Video] Tory Lanez – Henny In Hand

Tory Lanez
Henny In Hand (Prod. Noah Breakfast + Matti Free)

When Tory Lanez first dropped “Henny In Hand” last fall, it was an instant favorite here at TMN. Now a few months later, we finally have equally stunning visuals for the mesmerizing single. Directed by Andrew Hines (who also helmed the visuals for “The Godfather“), the video opens with Tory seated in the VIP area of a club eyeing a female from afar. The woman accepts payment from another gentleman who offers to take her home, and the rest of the story unfolds with Tory following closely behind. We don’t want to reveal too many details though, as there’s certainly a few exciting twists near the end.

Peep the visuals below, and make sure to check out his most recent collaboration with Snakehips on “Dimelo.” Now that he’s wrapped up his second Lost Cause tour, expect even more music from Tory on the way. In the meantime, feel free to read what he had to say to us about the experience last month.

[Slow Jam] Harriet Brown – 20/15

Harriet Brown
20/15

One look at the artwork for Harriet Brown‘s latest single should clue you in to the fact that he’s doing things a little different. The LA-based singer/songwriter/producer certainly has an impressive voice, but it’s what he does with that range that makes him such a promising up ‘n comer. After recently putting out “Fiction,” an excellent collaboration with Astronauts Etc. and Toro y Moi, Brown’s latest release melds an array of influences to showcase yet another facet of his creativity. From a production standpoint, “20/15” carries an 80s-revival feel with its sentimental keys and slowly unfolding percussion. Brown’s vocal dexterity and clever, thoughtful lyricism once again prove a focal point, though, as he brings elements of soul, funk and R&B into the mix making for a completely novel sort of slow jam. Press play above, grab the nearest lady or gentleman and hit the slow dance like it was middle school all over again.

[EP Review] Rozzi Crane – Space EP

If there’s something we love in an artist, it’s creativity, passion, and heaps of talent. Sometimes we come across an artist who perfects this trifecta and soars above and beyond some of today’s leading singers/songwriters. Whenever we do find these diamonds in the rough, we know that we have just stumbled upon something incredibly rare and special.

Well ninjas, we are pretty damn sure we just found the next vocal sensation, and boy will this powerhouse make you rethink today’s contemporary definition of what it means to be ‘the next big thing’. Hailing all the way from San Francisco, Rozzi Crane and her unique vocal resonance has captured our full attention after we discovered her Space EP. The moment she opened her mouth, all was lost and we immediately became submissive to this gal’s chilling vibrato and soulful melodies. As you make your way through this 4 track EP, you will experience nothing but emotion-evoking songwriting as well as a sly cameo from Maroon 5’s, Adam Levine in their song, “Painkiller”. As much as we love this EP in its entirety, we highly suggest you pay close attention to our personal favorite, “Half The Man”, for it could easily be ranked along some of Adele’s chart-topping ballads such as “Someone Like You” or “Rolling in the Deep”. With her emotional lyricism alongside the intricate sound design, Rozzi Crane continues to blow us all away with her vocal aura. We guarantee her presence will bring solace on this rainy Monday afternoon.

[Soul] Leon Bridges – Lisa Sawyer

Leon Bridges
Lisa Sawyer

Leon Bridges is a name you absolutely need to know. He’s followed up his massively successful tune, “Coming Home,” with the the third single, “Lisa Sawyer,” off of his upcoming LP with Columbia Records. His old school sound is comparable to the legendary soul icons Sam Cooke and Marvin Gaye, and the Texas native channels them proudly with his story telling method of songwriting and emotional structure of his music. “Lisa Sawyer” finds Leon balancing doo-wop backing vocals with serene sax lines that push the tune along as a wonderfully moving song that honors his mother in an endearing fashion. Leon has found a dynamite and refreshing calm within his sound, and his album can’t come soon enough.
