Army of the Universe – Acid Flows (Gosteffects Remix) [TMN Premiere]

Army Of The Universe
Acid Flows (Gosteffects Remix)

One of the most intriguing dance music producers to me has always been Gosteffects. His dark and energetic tracks are right where my taste aligns, but not only that, he’s an incredibly talented producer who can take the sound anywhere he wishes. Take for example the present premiere we have with the New York producer. His official remix of “Acid Flows” by Army of the Universe, has him turning down the bpms in the midtempo range for an electro-infused moombah masterpiece.

With this style, Dillon Francis always comes up, but Gosteffects makes it his own. He stays true to the hypnotic style of the original, while taking the sound to a completely different sonic region altogether. This new version of “Acid Flows” is an absolute bomb that would terrorize any setting it was dropped into, no matter if it were a big festival, a club or even a house party. It’s one of those tracks that’s good no matter where you hear it. Gosteffect’s remix will be released on The Magic EP + Remixes, which is currently available for pre-order on iTunes. If you don’t want to pre-order, you just have to wait until February 19th for the project to drop in full.

[Deep-House] Ferreck Dawn – Sweet Desperation feat. Kelli Leigh [TMN Premiere]

Ferreck Dawn
Sweet Desperation feat. Kelli Leigh (Edit) [Available February 29]

It’s been a while since we last checked in with Dutch house stalwart Ferreck Dawn, and the time in between has more than fueled our fire to once again consume his tasteful club sound with our fellow Ninjas. This time around, Ferreck Dawn makes a very welcome debut on hallowed Italian house imprint D:VISION Records along with Kelli Leigh (whose voice you may recognize from Duke Dumont’s global smash “I Got U” & Dawn’s most notable single “Love Too Deep”), “Sweet Desperation”. “Sweet Desperation” features Leigh’s distinctively soulful, R&B-inflected reverberations over what has become Dawn’s signature aesthetic of thumping bass swells & anthemic, melody-driven production; clearly wielding the makings for what could very possibly be another world-sweeping club hit. Already, “Sweet Desperation” has been receiving a huge wave of artist support from heavyweight TMN favorites including Kokiri, Vanilla Ace, & Benny Benassi, and if those names aren’t enough to stoke your proverbial fire, it’s got our TMN stamp of approval all over it. We’ve not been able to shake Dawn’s latest entrancing and deep house soundscape since first listen. Do your ears a favor and join us.

Be on the lookout for Ferreck Dawn’s official “Sweet Desperation” release through most digital retailers on February 29th, but until then, stream Ferreck Dawn’s “Sweet Desperation” as a shiny new ‘TMN Premiere’ above.

MYLK – Let You Go (Andromulus Remix) [TMN Premiere]

MYLK
Let You Go (Andromulus Remix)

Japanese artist and Manchester resident MYLK came out with her Dream Catcher EP a few months ago, but soon a remix EP will be coming out for the project. One of those remixes you get to hear early by way of a Music Ninja Premiere. DC basshead Andromulus is one of the many remixers on the package, but his superb dubstep take on “Let You Go” really blew us away. Andromulus plays this one a little more straightforward than his usual hybrid tendencies, and the result is a dirty beast of a record.

We should clarify, as the introduction and verses are super clean, with a light upbeat sound that really juxtaposes what we hear at the drop. It gives the song a nice mixture of emotions that adds a ton of depth. Remixes need to do the original justice, and Andromulus without a doubt did that here. Tomorrow you will be able to get this track, as the EP will be released on Valentine’s Day. Could be a good little present if your partner is a bass-lover!

Matroda – Chronic (Music Video) [TMN Premiere]

Matroda
Chronic (Available February 12)

Spinnin Records is releasing something a bit off their normal beaten path tomorrow. February 12th, they’ll be releasing a single from Matroda called “Chronic” that brings some hard bass. “Chronic” is still within the house realm, but with its breakbeat affinity and rough sound, it’s a nice subtle shift that the producer is bringing, after already delivering his sound for one of the label’s remix packages. Instead of giving you the track early, we are happy to premiere the music video ahead of the release.

Tomorrow, you can “Chronic” for yourself. Today, the animated music video is here for your eyes and ears. It’s a simple, yet mesmerizing array of images whose minimalist artistry is captivating. Music videos seem to be getting either more boring, or more strange, and although this is a little weird and funky, it’s a refreshing visual that’s not even close to being over the top. Check it out below, and come back tomorrow to grab the single.

Love Taps – Falling Fast feat. Maya Killtron [TMN Premiere]

Love Taps
Falling Fast feat. Maya Killtron

New York duo Love Taps have been killing it with their future dancehall style that’s seeing increased popularity all over the world. Today, we present to you the producer’s newest song “Falling Fast” as a Music Ninja Premiere. With this single, they slow things down a bit and focus on creating a groovy pop infused jam. “Falling Fast” is being self-released as a free download for the next week! Limited time only.

Love Taps create something that sort of reminds me of “Lean On,” however the vibe and execution of this single is different. The pop sensibilities are much more apparent with “Falling Fast” who’s sound also takes from moombahton and tropical house, but don’t expect the Kygo sound. Love Taps bring just enough of each stylistic influence to the table to create a well-balanced, fun record. Let’s not forget Maya Killtron who, well, let’s face it, kills it with her vocal performance. It’s an amazing single, and you’re hearing it first here!

Travis Scott – I Can Tell (DEVAULT Remix) [TMN Premiere]

Travis Scott
I Can Tell (DEVAULT Remix)

Orange County’s young gun DEVAULT is bringing the heat today with this Music Ninja Premiere. Sage knew he could turn up something sweet by flipping “I Can Tell” by Travis Scott, which is just what he did. His future take on the record features a much lighter, airy sound than the dark and bass driven original. The first minute is a very simple introduction and build that feel much shorter than the actual time allotted. Although this remix is a bit n the shorter end, DEVAULT hits you with a one-two punch of drops with majestic synth work and some clean vocal chops. A lot of the time when future bass producers try to bring that big atmospheric vibe to the track, they fall flat, but DEVAULT was able to not only keep things on the chill, more groovy side, while also making the track have that gigantic feel you look for in festival ready future. For a producer who legally can’t drink yet, I’d say he’s well on his way to establishing himself as someone to keep an eye on this year.

Sorry (PatrickReza Dubstep Remix)

Some people have been waiting a while for our friend PatrickReza to deliver one of his classic dubstep tracks. Today, we’re happy to premiere a song of such character with his remix of “Sorry” by Justin Bieber. His melodic rendering of the highly popular single is sure to satisfy fans old and new. It’s been a refreshing experience for Patrick himself, who has been dealing out some quality house records for a year now. It just goes to show this cat’s versatility when it comes to songwriting, and he further establishes himself as a strong and unique force in the dance music scene. This is the kind of work that gets heard by the original artist, and gets some love and support, maybe even to the point of a re-release as an official flip. If that ends up happening, don’t be surprised. Besides this being a phenomenal remix, Patrick released it as a free download, which you can grab here.
