Serbian producer Zeologic pumps up the dark energy with an official remix of “Tempest” by Juno Reactor. Seven minutes of heart-pounding trance is what makes the fifth remix out of nine that will be on The Golden Sun Remixed. Although this song is due out on June 5th, us ninjas have the opportunity to share it with you early with a premiere.
“Tempest” was the perfect song for Zeologic to remix, as its misty qualities translate well into the style of choice. The underground edge was kept alive, and the Belgrade beatmaker ran with it, pulling off a stunning display of musical savvy. Juno Reactor’s original was done justice, and soon it will be available for you to keep. All of the remixes are up for pre-order for those who would like to secure a copy.

Need something to get your heart pumping? Whether you need some energy to party, or finish off studying for finals, “The Orange Theme” should do the trick. The original from the German brothers Duderstadt is an incredible trance production that takes influence from outside styles to spice things up. High Contrast Recordings released this single on May 4th, so it is now available on Beatport.
“The Orange Theme” sounds like it definitely belongs in a movie, and we’d fair to say that is going to happen in the future. It has an iconic sound that takes a dip in the second chorus to a more dark, progressive style until things are brought full circle with the return of the original synth line. Duderstadt hopped on the radar in a big way with this track, so stay tuned for what is to come from these brothers.
Once a year, the best and brightest names in Techno, House (and its many iterations) and Disko converge on the city of Detroit for underground dance’s own version of a 3-day Happy Hour, and also one of the most important festivals within dance music’s rich history: the Movement Electronic Music Festival. This year’s lineup continues to set the bar globally for dance tastemakers, and with the full unveiling of their ‘Phase 2’ lineup, it’s clear to see how over the years Movement has been globally recognized for its unique talent curation and programming, showcasing artists from a wide-spectrum of up-and-comers, local luminaries, pioneers and trailblazers, and also the reason so many true dance fans treasure Movement above all other multi-day parties. Featuring some of today’s most notable names in dance music including Disclosure, KiNK (Live), Dixon, Soul Clap, Dog Blood, MK, Hot Since 82, Maya Jane Coles, Ten Walls (Live), Route 94, Tuskegee (Seth Troxler & The Martinez Brothers), Classixx, Eats Everything, Maceo Plex & GRiZ to some of dance music’s literal genre architects, namely Kerri Chandler, Kevin Saunderson & Derrick May; and some incredibly choice lyricism from the likes of Danny Brown, Method Man, and People Under the Stairs, Movement 2015 looks to be the finest installment in its illustrious history.
We’ll be sending at least one Music Ninja on assignment for this one (expect a full TMN review after Movement’s conclusion) and we can’t wait to join our many friends as well. Tickets for the entire three-day excursion are still available for only $150.00, with single day GA clocking in at $65.00 which you can purchase here. Check out Movement’s latest promo video, featuring Movement Detroit 2015 artist and Techno icon Carl Craig, as he talks about what makes Detroit a destination for those working to become something and waxes poetic about his special connection to Hart Plaza and enjoy our anticipatory and comprehensive playlist below, curated by our crotchety old resident voice of house and techno. We’ll be seeing you soon Detroit.

It’s safe to assume that every single person who comes to our site has been to a live show. It’s also safe to assume that a good number of you have made it to a festival of some sort, enjoying multiple stages of music over the course of one or more days. What goes into those shows though? How many moving parts are you aware of? For most of us, we don’t understand the magnitude of work, the immense amount of people, and the meticulous planning it takes to put on such an encompassing experiences for fans. Until now.
Documentarians Doug Bogan and Mike Koziel, in association with KenCast, have traveled the country trying to shine some light on this very subject. Showcasing 11 interviewees from differing aspects of the dance music industry, including TMN Co-Founder Clayton Warwick, Heard But Not Seen is a compelling, behind-the-scenes exploration at this overwhelmingly popular faction of today’s music-loving culture.
Below is a trailer of the upcoming film, with the full release dropping next Month.
