[Electronic] Awoltalk & Reach – Red Handed (feat. NKOLO)

Awoltalk & Reach
Red Handed (feat. NKOLO)

Some songs can hook you right from the start whether it be through intriguing instrumentation or enticing vocals. On Awoltalk & Reach‘s “Redhanded,” that feeling is induced as soon as the dreamy pads drop in. The duo’s collab comes as a nice surprise and a melodic vocal by NKOLO similarly keeps things fresh from the start. It’s a solid blend of trap, pop and progressive sounds all brought together with a lush production style. So listen up and stream “Redhanded.” We’ll definitely be on the lookout for more from these artists.

[Dubstep] Kompany – Kill Humans EP

I’ve had the personal pleasure of catching Kompany live recently, which means I’ve had the pleasure of hearing some of his Kill Humans EP with a full sound system. I was highly impressed and now that we’ve ran through all four singles in the dojo, all the ninjas are on board with this amazing EP.

Released through our friends over at Firepower Records, this four track project is a treasure chest of bass. “Kill Humans” kicks off the EP with some dark, cinematic sounds that lead into some insanely vicious growls that will rip your speakers to shreds if you aren’t careful. Next comes “Creepin’,” a twerk-friendly beast whose in-your-face attitude fits just in line with the EP’s overall tone. The only collaboration on Kill Humans comes next in the hybrid “Arcadia,” which was created alongside TYNVN. Lastly, “At ‘Em” closes out the project with it’s machine-gun style bass work. Overall, Kill Humans is dope through and through. Get your copy of the EP today through digital services.

[Trap] JayKode – Roll Out

JayKode
Roll Out

JayKode is on fire, plain and simple. The same can be said for Buygore Records who recently released the LA producer’s single “Roll Out.” This genre-bending original is our favorite JayKode single yet, which is saying a lot given his impressive catalog.

“Roll Out” has everything I love in a record: bass, piano and dembow. This twerk-centric heater is just what the dance community needs as festival season approaches. JayKode’s sound design ability sticks out to us in this one, but the great thing is he doesn’t rely solely on that to make a good song. His songwriting skills are top notch, which shouldn’t come as a surprise from a creator who fuses bass music with, of all things, classical music. “Roll Out” is currently out now, so get your copy from the digital service of your choice.
