[Trap] LEViT∆TE. – Mecca 002

LEViT∆TE. is back at it with the second episode of his album unveiling. Mecca is due out in full on November 7th, but during the weeks prior we get our hands on a few new singles. Last week episode one came out, so if you missed that, be sure to check it after you run through the current episode below.

The next batch of three tracks may even be more impressive than the first, which is hard to top. LEViT∆TE. doesn’t hold back any time he gets into the studio. Not only is he a unique creator, but his technical abilities when it comes to producing are just insane. How he manages to get things sounding so nasty, yet so clean is far beyond me. Just take the first track “RED” as an example. Every sound feels so saturated, giving it that exciting edge that is almost exclusive to his music, yet it’s not abrasive in the slightest for this type of music.

With “Run” you get that same edge, but it is applied to a more twerk-friendly composition. Lastly, we have “Act 2” featuring Zuse. This two part trap heater is more than a single, it’s a journey within itself. As it was with episode one, all tracks from this group are currently available for free through the individual players.

[Multi-Genre] Most Addictive Drops Reboot Compilation

Most Addictive kills it in every aspect, whether it’s their label, blog or Youtube channel. We could go into why, but instead we’re going to focus on their most recent endeavor, the Reboot compilation.

Bassheads gather ’round, as MA collected six singles from some of the most solid up and coming producers in the game. Brig starts things off with one of the best songs of the project with “Flat,” which is anything but. Chime comes in hot with “Tundra” a video-game influenced dub record that is an absolute smash. “Amazon” by Guillotine comes in with a more modern dubstep original that keeps up the compilations energy, and heavy low frequencies.

Prismatic kicks us into a different direction with his hybrid tune “Ambush” whose name fits its attitude. Rob Gasser keeps us on our toes with his light-hearted drum & bass tune “Adrenaline.” The last song, “Departure,” is the only collaboration on Reboot, coming from Zetta and Wavemode. They bring the sound back to the contemporary area of dub that has been making a huge comeback in the last several months. Reboot is currently available on iTunes for purchase. It is well worth the money. Don’t just stream it, buy it!

[Trap] Far East Movement – F-VR Feat. Candice Pillay & No Riddim

Far East Movement album? Yep, IDENTITY is coming. Some tracks are already public, including the group’s collaboration with Candice Pillay and No Riddim on “F-VR.”

“F-VR” is a soft, vibey tune that closely abides by the styles of pop and trap. You can hear influences from both groups, and Candice’s vocal performance is one you won’t be forgetting any time soon. Don’t be surprised if this one makes its way up the charts and takes over the radio. It’s got that type of potential, and Far East Movement aren’t strangers to a big hit. After listening through this one, we’re excited to hear what else the album has on it. IDENTITY is out now through some digital stores, however iTunes will be live tomorrow with the full purchasable project!

[Multi-Genre] UFO! Drops Choppa Dunks & Holly Collabs For New Series

One of the best kept secrets in dance music is UFO!. The San Francisco beatsmith abides by good music and good music only. Sure, he’s got a cool brand going, but he is sticking to his guns as one of the best veterans in the game.

Recently, he’s started unveiling his four part collaboration series. The tracks don’t have names, but they don’t really need them; they are just that good. Part one started with Choppa Dunks, and part two just came out with the Portugal producer Holly. Both tracks are absolutely savage, although they differ in style. With Choppa’s collab, we get a more of a jungle/reggae vibe that brings an obscene amount of energy. With Holly, we get a more of a bass heavy trap tune, although it doesn’t limit itself to that genre. It bounces all over the place, making it one powerful and dynamic single. Two more collaborations are coming, one next week and the last coming from G-Buck on November 1st. Get ready.
