PLS&TY ft. Bobby Saint – Outlaws [TMN VIDEO PREMIERE]

PLS&TY ft. Bobby Saint
Outlaws

If The International Association of Baby Makin’ Music existed, PLS&TY and Bobby Saint would most assuredly be poster boys for the organization given what they did with “Outlaws.” There’s no denying it–the soaring vocals glide powerfully over surging synths and heavy bass, giving everyone the perfect backdrop for their upcoming bedroom escapades.

No need to blush, here. We’re all adults. We all have that playlist, and we’re all continually looking for new additions to it. This shouldn’t come as any surprise to anyone at this point. However, if you find yourself in the minority, or you’re just a huge fan of this pairing’s work, we have another layer that might be of interest to you.

Seeing as how every true music fan loves nothing more than to belt out the lyrics to their favorite tunes, whether it be in the car, with the windows up, or in the shower, holding your back scrubbie like a microphone, the simple truth is that whether or not we actually can sing, we’ll gladly do so anyways. Today, we’re giving you a crash course in how to keep up with “Outlaws,” made possible by this handy lyric video.

If you’ve come to know and love the collaboration of Palm Beach-based PLS&TY and Barbados-based Bobby Saint, and their work via PRMD Music, then you’ll certainly be stoked at knowing the proper set of lyrics from “Outlaws.” Just promise us one thing–don’t start singing these bad boys out as you lay in bed with that special someone. It will most definitely kill the mood.

After you’re done with your own personal karaoke session, head over and pick up “Outlaws” for your personal collection.

Champagne Drip – Open Your Eyes [TMN VIDEO PREMIERE]

We’re huge fans of Champagne Drip here at The Music Ninja, and getting the chance to premiere something new from this fun producer is always a treat. We’ve got the visuals for his stellar track, “Open Your Eyes”, and they are CRAZY. Created through Hyperspektiv, this video distorts reality into a clash of colors, noise, and sporadic effects that warp perfectly in time with the music. Champagne Drip’s sound fits right in with this trippy type of video production, giving “Open Your Eyes” the full experience of melding song with sight. Interestingly enough, Justin Boreta, who you may know as a third of The Glitch Mob, is a developer for Hyperspektiv. He exclaims,

The goal with Hyperspektiv is to make digital video art easy and accessible. We wanted to make a powerful tool that professionals would want to use, but it’s also easy enough for someone who isn’t tech savvy to enjoy using it. The idea is to have the app itself get out of the way and to dive straight into real-time creativity.

It’s a wild concept all around, so don’t be surprised if you see it pop up more and more. If you’re really feeling this tune, give the Conrank and Kid Froopy remixes a spin also! Be sure to support Champagne Drip on SoundCloud, Facebook, and Twitter. Check out the video below and enjoy!

On June 22nd, XXL magazine will be issuing a Freshman edition that is going to highlight some up and coming talent. One of those emcees that will be featured is Mix Fox. We have the pleasure of hosting Mix Fox’s newest project, an official music video for his single “How We Roll,” as a premiere in the dojo.

“How We Roll” has been released by Soundlink Records and is currently available on iTunes. With the song we get a shaded, minimalist beat whose vibe sets the tone for a low-key party track. Nothing is over-the-top with this tasteful instrumental, and Mix Fox’s rhymes are fast and ferocious. With the music video, instead of getting a first-person point of view, we follow the front of Mix Fox as he performs the song throughout a house party. It’s an interesting flip that makes for a cool visual counterpart. There’s also a guy in a banana costume following the rapper around with a boombox, so you know it’s good. Check it out below, and get ready for more work soon from Mix Fox.

Humboldt – From Above [TMN MUSIC VIDEO PREMIERE]

From Above

Grief. Regret. Dispair. Obsession. It’s safe to say that we’ve all experienced the wave of emotions that comes with a break-up. It’s one of the most powerful events we go through as human beings, bringing uncontrollable surges, followed up devastating lulls for weeks, months, and sometimes even years.

Humboldt, a Berlin-based songwriter, DJ, has certainly has tugged on our heartstrings today, showcasing a beautifully painful scene between two lovers. Interestingly enough, though, it’s gorgeously juxtaposed with his calming, rhythmic, and ethereal track “From Above.” The counter-balance between the powerful message, both through the visuals and lyrics, and his calculated arrangement of airy percussion, alluring piano melody, and engaging vocal hums create quite the experience, start-to-finish.

This up and coming artist gained a strong following through stellar remixes of both Alt-J and Still Parade, but now has his sites set on an original body of work, Mamihlapinatapai. Look for its release on Ove Records, Humboldt’s very own imprint, later this spring.

[Music Video] Agelast – Fever

Agelast Music
Fever

Nashville is one of the music meccas of the world, if not the music mecca of the world. It’s called home by a ton of talents, but one newer one on the scene is just beginning to make some headway. Agelast, made up by Devin Hill and J Daxton Fann, have put out their debut single called “Fever” along with a music video. They say they’re bringing rock music you can dance to, and that’s just what they bring.

“Fever” starts off right away with a groovy guitar line accompanied by drums to set the tone of the song up. Throughout the song, the composition changes in various ways to keep things fresh and exciting throughout the entirety of the song. With the music video, we get a vintage style production that focuses itself around a couple, with the two starting out in a hotel room. From there we get a barrage of images ranging from artsy light shots, to the DJ booth, a select few nature shots and even the lead female in a bathtub full of cereal. With a great song and a solid music video, Agelast have started their journey well by putting their best foot forward. We can’t wait to see or hear what they put out next.
