Back in December, Sigma released their Life album, complete with nineteen songs in their deluxe version. One of those tracks is called “Lighters” and it features the London artist Majestic. Today, we present to you an official music video for that record and it goes just as hard as the song does.
“Lighters” is a drum & bass track that will get your blood pumping and your party attitude ready. With the music video, we get a set of images taken from Sigma’s live show, pasted together in a manner that will force you to check through their schedule for the next show nearest you. They don’t put together just any old show, the one depicted features there signature live setup, as well as smoke machines/cannons, fireworks and just some straight up fire. Check out the video below and for those of you who haven’t purchased the Life album, you may do so on iTunes.
The Fat Rat has been working on his sound. If you’re familiar with any of his previous work you will know him as a progressive house superpower. We’re happy see new music from this seasoned artist. And the new single shows that the producer’s abilities are only becoming stronger and more refined.
It’s titled, “The Calling.” You will definitely be singing this song in your head after you hear it. The Fat Rats pop melodies and songwriting abilities are stunning on this song and the overall production and mix are excellent. Below is the stream but check out the official music video below that’s really popping off. And pay attention to the cool symbols mid way through, maybe The Fat Rat is trying to tell us something…
Australian songstress Vanessa Elisha has been on our radar for a few years now, so we’re definitely proud to see her reach yet another milestone in her career with the release of her first ever music video for her recent single “Out of Time”. The addicting tune–which has been in steady rotation ever since it dropped back in November–finds the vocalist pairing with producer XXYYXX as she despondently dwells upon being painfully separated from her significant other. Trapped in an inescapable glass container, the forlorn lover earnestly croons about her agonizing feelings of isolation and her desire to escape before the clock ultimately ticks down to zero. Unfortunately, her surroundings only grow darker and grim over time, as her vision gets cloudier and the box is shrouded in mist. By the end it seems like she learns to accept her circumstances, but we decided to ask the songwriter herself about the song’s somber message and harrowing visuals to see what she had to say:
Conceptually, we really wanted to capture the feeling of isolation. It was all about embodying the lyrics, “running out of time”. For me, the box is the physicalisation of the loneliness or anxiety someone feels when they are about to be left alone for a long period of time. It could represent something different to everyone who watches it, that’s what I love about interpretation.
Peep the ominous Matt Earl-directed visuals below and if you’re feeling the single make sure to grab yourself a copy from iTunes. Stay tuned for more from Vanessa as she continues to prep her upcoming EP, set to drop later this year.

Vancouver trio DiRTY RADiO have been becoming a force to be reckoned with in the music scene over the past year. A few months ago they released one of their biggest singles yet in “Numbers.” Now, they’ve put together a simple, yet striking visual partner to the already enticing song that many have already purchased from iTunes. Although there’s no need to buy the music video, if you had to, it would be worth it.
“Numbers” is an all-around great record. Electronic music aficionados will get down to it, but it also is right up the alley of indie and pop lovers, making it quite a versatile track. With the music video, we get an array of images centered around what I presume to be the streets of their hometown, where the trio are jamming out the song, with cuts to some lovely ladies to shake things up a bit. On top of what was filmed, an animator took hold of the project and added another dimension to it that really adds a lot of power to the project. So sit back, relax, and enjoy some DiRTY RADiO.
Spinnin Records is releasing something a bit off their normal beaten path tomorrow. February 12th, they’ll be releasing a single from Matroda called “Chronic” that brings some hard bass. “Chronic” is still within the house realm, but with its breakbeat affinity and rough sound, it’s a nice subtle shift that the producer is bringing, after already delivering his sound for one of the label’s remix packages. Instead of giving you the track early, we are happy to premiere the music video ahead of the release.
Tomorrow, you can “Chronic” for yourself. Today, the animated music video is here for your eyes and ears. It’s a simple, yet mesmerizing array of images whose minimalist artistry is captivating. Music videos seem to be getting either more boring, or more strange, and although this is a little weird and funky, it’s a refreshing visual that’s not even close to being over the top. Check it out below, and come back tomorrow to grab the single.
The duo of Deebs and Jarell Perry proved what can be accomplished when two immensely creative forces collide together with the release of their collaborative Shift EP back in May. After taking their talents on tour across much of the West Coast and Canada, the pairing’s bond has only grown stronger since then and today we bear witness to the latest fruits of their labor in the form of the music video for their standout single “Relapse”. The stunning visuals serve as the directorial debut for fashion photographer/podcast host, Yoshino, whose previous work has been featured in publications like Elle and Flaunt Magazine.
The video starts off solemn and colorless, but signs of fracture start to show as the song builds towards it climax. Almost without warning, everything shatters into a sea of pixels, syncing up perfectly with the song’s urgent synths and Jarell’s ominous vocals. The visual piece serves as the best example of datamoshing that we’ve seen since Kanye West notably used the trippy glitchy effects for his “Welcome To Heartbreak” video back in 2009.
When asked about his vision for the track Perry had this to say about the inspiration behind the visuals:
I’ve seen a lot of close friends, particularly women, deal with limiting beliefs about who they are and who they can be outside of a toxic relationship. It’s a battle they are fighting with themselves, and for me it was important that the visuals represent that tension (and liberation) in a more unconventional way.
If you still somehow haven’t heard the duo’s Shift EP, do yourself a favor and grab a copy on iTunes. Look for new material from Deebs and Jarell to emerge soon, and for those in the L.A. area make sure to catch the latter with starRo at the Lyric Theatre on February 5th.
Sometimes Spinnin’ Records surprises us with a really top quality record. A few times within the past year, they’ve pushed singles from Fox Stevenson, a bass act that you wouldn’t really expect to have releases with this label. He’s been a fresh act with them, revitalizing their catalog with dope tracks, including his newest one “Comeback.” Besides creating a boisterous glitch production that he also lent his superb voice to, the crew decided to make a music video for the track. Featuring none other than Fox Stevenson himself, the music video follows a couple individuals leading up to one of Fox’s shows. It’s a tasteful visual that is a nice addition to an extremely fun song. Check the video out below and head over to iTunes to grab the extended mix for yourself.
