Alela Diane follows up her 2011 album Alela Diane & Wild Divine with promise of a new LP, titled About Farewell, which is set hit record shelves at some point later this year.
The first single from the album, “The Way We Fall”, is a melancholic introduction to Alela’s forthcoming LP that sees the Portland based folk singer lamenting about lost love over haunting guitar swells. As the song fades to a gentle close, the emotional turbulence of the first half of “The Way We Fall” slips into a delicate outro, as if realizing that despite the heartache, it’s better to have loved and lost than not loved at all …
