Y La Bamba are another band to emerge from Portland, OR’s thriving scene, with more promise than most. Centred around frontwoman Luezelena Mendoza’s incredible soaring and soulful vocals, Y La Bamba make Latin-influenced folk music with a heart. ‘Squawk’ is a stand-out track from their record ‘Court The Storm’, and features infectious acoustic guitar and Mendoza’s Florence Welch-esque vocals.
