Minutes Of Moog
With his third release in three weeks, it seems as if the Jay Electronica comeback is real after all, this time sporting a guest feature on The New Royales‘ “Minutes of Moog.” Jay’s bars aren’t exactly brand new (the dated MySpace reference is a real giveaway here), but that doesn’t make them any less impressive. Borrowing from a song he’s been performing live for nearly four years called “Googly Eyes,” Jay’s relaxed delivery fits well over the glitchy yet polished instrumental. Liz Rodrigues‘ saccharine vocals form the icing on top, which add a reflective element to the laidback tune.
While there still isn’t any news on the status of Act II: Patents of Nobility, we’re keeping our fingers crossed that this steady stream of music will eventually lead to some sort of announcement. Rather than getting our hopes up however, we prefer to sit back and enjoy the ride while it lasts, because if we’ve learned anything from Jay, they’re not typically very long.
