After spending some time behind the scenes, Scottish singer/songwriter Emeli Sande has been making her name in the mainstream industry with her critically debut Our Version of Events. Now crossing over into international success, she pairs with Compton rap-star Kendrick Lamar for the US release/remix to “Next to Me”. Although a powerful ballad before, the addition of the aggressive and gritty two verses from the West coast emcee make for an interesting R&B/Hip-Hop collaboration.
