Dipset
Dae Zhen first caught our attention earlier this year with the release of his single “94,” which showcased his prowess on the mic as both a talented wordsmith and gifted singer. Returning with the first offering since the release of his mixtape Women & Wordplay, the LA native demonstrates his versatility once again on the cheery new track, “Dipset.” Produced by Mike Derenzo, “Dipset” is a lighthearted, carefree number that’s guaranteed to lift anybody’s spirits. Though the song has a throwback sound that finds itself rooted in nostalgia, Dae Zhen incorporates enough modern hip-hop flair to keep it from feeling like it’s too stuck in the past. Though we’re still not sure what the track has to do with the famed Harlem collective, we’re willing to let that detail slide in exchange for a free download.
