Still Life Remix
The music scene is alive and well in Detroit, and newcomer Jon Zott is continuing to display the electronic prowess that the Motor City has come to be known for.
The bar was already set high on one of our favorite tunes from Hollow & Akimbo, which is comprised of the insanely talented and multifaceted musician Jonathan Visger (Absofacto, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.), and his equally as impressive bandmates Brian Konicek and Mike Higgins.
Gone are the tribal percussion that provided the backbone for Visger’s silvery vocal. In their place is a booming kick and electronic spattering of clicks and space-age synths. The song takes on a whole new identity through Zott’s eyes, yet it gives a courteous tip of the cap to the original, connecting the listener to the original flawlessly, as any good remix should.
