SPEED TRAP
Joyryde has to be one of the most underrated cats in the house game. His energetic productions play off various styles of house, including electro and the future/deep sound that has been taking the scene by storm over the course of the last year or so. He’s managed to keep his own style in a sea of watered-down producers, and his newest single, “Speed Trap” is off the chain.
Boisterous basslines beam out the speaker with a vengeance until you get your body grooving along, and then they persist. Joyryde manages energy levels incredibly well in general, but in moving into short cut time phrases, he allows for a little different vibe to be given to the end of the chorus sections. One of the best parts about the song is that he gave it away for free. No matter what kind of house head you are, you are going to dig what Joyryde has to offer.
