Influenced by the urban isolation and vast woodlands of his hometown of Buffalo, NY, Kyle Reigle, AKA Cemeteries, made a record. “The Wilderness” is the first taste of that LP and immediately feels reminiscent of Wild Nothing and Youth Lagoon — dreamy, but still echoing a deep sadness or longing. Full of soft, understated synths, Reigle’s light, melancholic vocals and enveloping, ghostly reverb, the track is a subtle gem and wonderful introduction to a new artist.
