Tunnel
Patience is a virtue. It’s something that we’re not too familiar with in our information-in-nanoseconds society we live in, but there’s something beautiful about having to wait just a little bit for something good.
The Bronze Medal understands the afformentioned fifth century proverbial phrase, providing listeners with slow-building indie rock that like a gorgeous bottle of wine, needs some time to reach it’s full potential. Not to say that the epic, cinematic builds that these guys put out aren’t something to marvel at, but it’s not until you hear the full song that you realized what you just experienced.
Seeing as how I’m a huge fan of instrumental post-rock (praise be to Mogwai), I was more than pleased to experience the layering of elements that slowly make up the full experience of “Tunnel.” Produced by Vageir Sigurosson (Brian Eno, Sigur Ros, Feist, Damon Albarn), this stunning song is off the band’s debut LP Darlings, which is due out in September.
