Austin’s TV Torso combine hints of folk with big, larger-than-life rock moments that are so precise they nearly knock you over. This new track, “Clear Lake Strangler,” starts off with a homey kind of harmless strumming before it hits its stride with knee-slaps, claps and stomping in epic jam band fashion. By the time they launch into the chorus, they’re rockin’ with Spoon-like swagger; even the band’s frontman’s carries a coarse, prickly voice like Britt Daniels. It’s the kind of song that shouts loud whether you’re blasting it out in the countryside or off your apartment building rooftop. Check it out below, and make sure to listen to more new material at their Bandcamp.
