Nightwater Girlfriend
Springfield based indie rock outfit Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin not only has an entertaining name, but an entertaining sound. This Missourian four piece met at an absolute laugher of a Super bowl, when the legendary Denver Broncos, lead by a God against men, dismantled the Atlanta Falcons. Broncos allegiance aside, I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for these guys, and I’m excited today to bring some new music from them to you.
The repetitious chord driven progression of “Nightwater Girlfriend” is similar to what we’ve come to expect and love from SSLYBY. It has that garage rock feel that’s easily digestible. There’s also a nice little math rock inspired guitar section that shows the bands versatility. No matter how you shake it down, these guys know how to write an infectious tune.
