Young quartet The Sanctuaries are an intriguing band. Combining influences new and old, their sound is both fresh yet nostalgic. Take ‘Soft Crime’, for example. Sharp guitars and insistent rhythms are firmly rooted in the present, while David Stern’s wistful vocals take us back to a more shoegazey era. One of the most promising acts out there, The Sanctuaries’ record ‘Annette’ features ‘Soft Crime’.
