A little over a year ago Efterklang released their third long player, ‘Magic Chairs’, a gorgeous orchestral indie-rock album that, like the bands previous two albums, managed to effortlessly fuse intricate classical arrangements with melodic pop sensibilities.
‘Raincoats’, the third single to be lifted from Efterklang’s third album is an experimental but insanely catchy song that intros with a simple vocal and hand clap rhythm which then recruits layers of percussion, emotional vocals harmonies and twanging guitar lines as it builds to a majestic crescendo.
Trentemøller has a rare talent for raising goosebumps and with this remix of ‘Raincoats’ he’s ticked all the boxes. Warm yet dark cinematic soundscapes, narcotic drum grooves, psychedelic surf guitars, flawless production. Everything in its right place.
