No one can really prepare for what Wuki, the solo project of Kris Barman (former member of Innerpartysystem), bring to the table in the most uncompromising fashion. Overproduced and over filtered dubstep has cluttered the waves (and the internet tubes) for months now, ultimately creating the popular but tiresome genre of BROSTEP. The culture of outshining and out-performing one another with bigger aggressive drops is apparent in dubstep today, and yet we are blessed with producers like Wuki bringing an extensive technical approach to music. The absence of sound can be just as intense as the most growling of basslines and when these teasing spaces of utter nothingness are effectively sprinkled through the track, the breaks in its continuity just makes you want to want it more. And We all want what we can’t have. Wuki successfully remixes Midnight Conspiracy & Cenob1te’s single “The Eye” into an five minute long foreplay session of seductive, mechanical sounds that will make you come back for more.
