The Chill Dojo is back after a little hiatus, but we’ve still been keeping our ears out during the two week break to make sure you don’t miss a thing. To make up for the time away, this catch-up playlist is over 50 tracks strong to bring us all back to speed on what’s been happening in the world of chill music.
We covered this one when it came out over a week ago, but there was no denying ‘Fantasy’ from topping the list of our return edition. Seductive songstress Alina Baraz has been teaming up with the sensual sounds of Galimatias for a while now, but nothing has come quite so close to musical perfection until now. From the very moment this song begins, the dreamy atmosphere and angelic vocals shroud your mind into a vision of pure serenity. From there, this glorious hypnotism is led along by the beat like a benevolent puppetmaster whose performance is tragically limited to under 4 minutes. Needless to say, it made us feel some kind of way.
Next up, we have WRLD once again draw us into his universe of future music bliss, and ‘Triumph’ is every bit a success as its title suggests. It’s a unique dimension where jungle beats meet massive chords fueled by the power of pure ecstasy, and it’s ready-made to be the soundtrack for moments of epic proportions. If you haven’t learnt by now, we’re a little obsessed with sounds like this, so it’s fitting we have one of our favorites in Pusher continue the trend with two of his own magical concoctions he cooked up during our downtime. His latest remix of Jack U is set to be his biggest track to date, and it’s not hard to see why this one should put him on the radar as a certified talent in the future game. And speaking of games, his recent original ‘ABXY’ shows off his signature style that is every bit true to his roots, and will no doubt be a fan favorite for a long time to come.
We’ve also got a few features from another dojo elite in Lindsay Lowend, gracing our ears with a jammin little remix of the iconic ‘Irreplaceable’. The song has been cleverly disguised on his Soundcloud to try and avert the iron fist of the copyright crawler, but we’re here to make sure you don’t miss hearing this infectious beat in all its glory. If you’re finding that still hasn’t satisfied your cravings, we’ve also got another serving of sweetness from him in ‘Memory Foam’. As its name promises, this one will tug at those nostalgic heartstrings with its simplistic beauty, evoking all the memories you hold so dear.
In case you somehow missed it, there has been a wave of ‘Say My Name’ remixes since the release of Odesza’s album, and this makes plenty of great listening material for the Dojo. We can’t get enough of them, so we’ve included some of our top picks from the bunch so far, but they’re likely to keep popping up for a while to come.
It’s time to get the chill back into your life. We hope you haven’t missed it too badly. Peace out.
