Bassnectar (Lorin Ashton) is perhaps one of the few who is completely immune to the scrutiny of evolving dubstep scene. Within every creation, Bassnectars is able to appeal to dubstep purists and the “WHERE IS THE DROP BRO?” crowd alike. His latest single “Ugly”, is no exception. Given as a teaser to his upcoming album VAVA VOOM, the hard chasing drumstep infused track provides a disgustingly massive bass. Zion I member Amp Live jumps in for an attitude filled verse that just extends the aggression even further.
VAVA VOOM is due April 10 from Ashton’s Amorphous label, featuring collabs with Lupe Fiaso, ill.Gates, Mimi Page, Tina Malia, and Jansten.
