Canadian noise duo Crystal Castles are back with a new single, ‘Plague’, taken from their forthcoming third album. It’s standard CC fare, with Alice Glass’ intense vocals layered over brutal electronic instrumentals reminiscent of Atari Teenage Riot. Their as yet untitled record has themes of oppression, and the sheer force of ‘Plague’ is terrifying, but in a very addictive way that makes you press repeat countless times. Crystal Castles may not have broken new ground, but we’ve missed their chaotic electro-core, so ‘Plague’ is a very welcome return. CC’s album is set to drop in September, so stay tuned for more information.
