Bonfire Feat. Suntalk
It’s been a little while since we checked in with one of our favorite tastemaking Deep Disco outfits, The Golden Pony, and in between their time hustling as some of NYC’s most influential electronic promoters, they’ve managed to issue a follow up to their debut original “Tiny Purple Fishes” with a house meets disco groover “Bonfire”. Featuring another NYC band Suntalk on vocals, “Bonfire” beautifully flits between the electronic indie dance output of camps like Future Classic and 4AD and straightforward nu-disko and house music structures. While TGP has made their name mostly by reaching into the remix cookie jar, their original tunes have been the hook which keeps us ninjas coming back for more. “Bonfire” paces itself briefly, starting off slow and steady, before bouncing in cheeky vocals and an appropriately addictive, simple bass line.
