Not Going Home
Sometimes the greatest things happen when you least expect it. It could be randomly meeting that special someone who you’ll spend the rest of your life with. It could be unknowingly making a difference in a stranger’s day, providing someone with the hope to go on. It could be as simple as a stumbling upon an artist that you previously didn’t know much about. Regardless of what causes this feeling, it’s one that’s inexplicably wonderful, causing surging emotions that overtake every last existing thought.
We’re no stranger to Los Angeles-based Olivver, having previously written about a track of his with Jez Dior, but we have to admit we were taken back upon hearing “Not Going Home.” Coming off his EP FREAK, this song sparkles with undeniable brilliance, flirting effortless between something you’d expect from a seasoned crooner and a pop-centric, indie artist.
Stirring up inspiration, “Not Going Home” latches itself onto a powerful bassline, simplistic percussion, and understated piano work. The lyrics especially stand out, providing an inspirational cadence that insights a strong revelry of emotional grandeur.
To say that we were beyond impressed is an understatement. In this blogger’s honest opinion, this is one of the better tracks we’ve stumbled upon in some time. We can’t wait to see what lies ahead for this uber-talented songwriter.
