If you’ve been paying any attention to our Sunday Night Soul series, then you’ll know that Blackbear has quickly become a bit of a staple on this site. Churning out quality material music on a consistent basis, the LA native has a knack for creating music that’s incredibly relatable and strikes a cord in all the right places. His latest single, a collaboration with production duo 4e, finds the crooner detailing what it feels like to find himself waiting on the “Sidelines.” While you may be wondering exactly what that means at first, the experience is one that should be familiar to most of us. Finding himself embroiled in a relationship that’s currently stranded in ambiguous territory, the frustrated Blackbear goes so far as to say “If I can’t love you, don’t want nobody else to.” Though that may sound a little selfish, it’s probably a sentiment that we’ve all shared at one point or another.
