Salt (Peter Thomas Remix)
We’ve grown quite fond of Woodland Hills quartet Bad Suns since uncovering their grounded indie sounds last year, so when a very worthy dance-pop remix from Peter Thomas of their original tune “Salt” permeated our speakers late last night, which we posted back in January,we knew we had to get it out to you ninjas. Thomas sprinkles a healthy dose of Summertime dancefloor vibes with a thick four-four heartbeat and sprightly plucked synth notes sounding as if they were laid down on an original MOOG during the 80’s synth movement. Just addictive stuff to this writer’s ears. While much of Bad Suns’ original music carries a heavier, less uplifting but incredibly emotive set of feelings with it, frontman Christo Bowman (whom we had a lovely interview with a few months ago) fits like the last piece in a jigsaw puzzle amongst Thomas’ ear enslaving instrumentation. Take this one home for the price of… on us, over on the Bad Suns Soundcloud and let your mind be taken to a breezy, poolside Summer party a little earlier than our seasons suggest.
