The Mispers
Shoulder

Sometimes beauty can be found in the most unrefined parts of life. Not everything has to be incredibly polished in order to be attractive, which is why music provides such an unique, individualistic adventure for everyone.

After releasing their sophmore EP Dark Bits earlier this year, The Mispers have returned with this brand new single, “Shoulder.” Having only been together for 18 months, this outfit has already garnered a tremendous following, selling out nine shows in London, playing festival gigs, and trotting along through European venues as well.

Calling back on our intro paragraph, “Shoulder” does boast an attractive indie rock progression with melodic guitar work, but lead singer Jack Balfour Scott is anything but a crooner. Yet his vocals provide a delightfully stressed persona as they strain across the fluttering guitar notes and steady percussion work. No, it’s not smooth and refined, but god dammit, it’s good.

Bringing forth associations of fast-paced, energetic indie rockers like We Were Promised Jetpacks, Alt-J, and Frightened Rabbits, The Mispers are set to be one of those blogosphere darlings, soon to spill over into the mainstream. We’re just happy we had them on here before that happened.

If you happen to be in London in November, make sure to catch one of the, if not all three of the shows below.

Nov 4th – Sebright Arms, London.
Nov 10th – Basement, London.
Nov 20th – The Flyover, London.
